SSX 3

Strengths: Gameplay is smooth, and physics are very realistic. Very fun to play with a group.

Weakness: Game segment load times are very long. Haven't figured out to use 2 player option, not in manual.

My six year old and I play this game with the aid of a surround sound stereo. We can entertain not only ourselves, but house guests too, because of the look and sound of this game, and the way it engages we players. My son suddenly is a 'dude', and does face plants and rips it up (his words - he has never actually snowboarded).

SSX 3

Strengths: Great graphics, huge courses, lots of tricks, solid controls, online play (only on PS2).

Weakness: Online not that deep.

SSX kind of came out of nowhere when it debuted with the Playstation 2 in 2001. EA has since carried the momentum from their BIG brand and expanded their lineup (Street, Sled Storm, etc.). But I think SSX symbolizes what's at the core of the BIG brand. Fun arcade games that have a surprising amount of depth. The courses are absolutely beautiful and huge in SSX3. Even though the entire game takes...

SSX 3 (PS2)

Strengths: graphics, combos, characters

Weakness: None

I played SSX tricky for the PS2 and loved it... so when SSX3 came out, I bought it right away. This game features the same over the top snow boarding tricks and combo as the previous SSX games. You chose a character and hit the slopes. In SS3, all the slopes reside on one mountain with 3 peaks. You unlock slopes and character upgrades (skills, clothing, etc) by winning races, performing tricks...

Still holds up

Strengths: Great control, varied environments, ton of stuff to do, cheaper than Blur.

Weakness: If you didn't like the previous ssx games, this won't convert you.

I've played ssx 3 for both the cube and ps2, and while I spent more time with the cube, I have to say the controls on the ps2 are easier to play. The other main difference was online play for the ps2, but I have no experience with that. If you haven't played any of the ssx games, this is a great jumping on point that eases you into the controls but has long and deep learning curve. Strongly...

best of the series

Strengths: great gameplay with continuous theme, long long runs that have a lot of great lines to run in them

Weakness: typical ea "synergy" music, only 2 person online

This is a fantastic game that is really the epitome of the series. The game is all on one gigantic "mountain" that you slowly progress to the top of and combine runs to get longer and longer and harder and harder. The final run is about half an hour long. Its a lot of fun and there are lots of different things to do and customization. The typical great gameplay of SSX combined with some great...

dont eat yellow snow

Strengths: Great controller response, cool tricks, very smooth

Weakness: NA

This game is loads of fun for everyone. Normally I play very involved, deep, and slow games (FF series for example) and my family hates it since it is so boring to watch. However, when I picked up this game and started playing, the family was all around having a blast and enjoying it all the time. I've definatley had a blast playing it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys snowboarding,...

SSX 3

Strengths: very enjoyable; crazy tricks are fun to watch; cool graphics; great characters; lots of customization possible; great music

This game is a very fun one, and one of the things I like most about it is that it is totally unrealistic. The physics of the game are very good, so it IS realistic in that sense (which is good), but the tricks are impossible. Many of them involve removing both feet from the snowboard (which = DEATH or at least serious injury when snowboarding in real life), but they are a lot more fun to watch...

SSX 3

Strengths: Superb Graphics, SOlid gameplay, great soundtrack, race on a mountain!

Weakness: May be considered too "niche" by casual gamers (because it's snowboarding), some might not be a fan of the music selection

SSX3 is the quintessential snowboarding game. Forget physics and realism. If gamers want realistic snowboarding they should go do it in real life... EA BIG's SSX series has sought to rejuvenate the dying snowboarding genre in a hyped up and innovative way, and SSX3 is simply the best of all of them. The soundtrack is great, and like in the previous installments, the music adjusts to your playing...

SSX 3

Strengths: open gameplay, huge trick, long playing time

Weakness: somewhat repetitive

This is a very fun game. It improves on both previous versions and the levels are much bigger now. The gameplay is still very fun and the tricks are very cool. A casual gamer would like this , not only snowboarders.

SSX 3

Flying down the peak, the snowboarder jumps into the air and spins around three times. He grabs the board from several locations, switching seamlessly between each move like it was a natural reflex. Crossing the finish line in record time creates an overabundance of excitement from the audience. Everyone is amazed by what this guy has done. But all you can say is, "His form was a little off." SSX...

SSX 3

Generally speaking, when a game is released across all three console platforms, one version ends up sneaking ahead of the other two in some way or another. In the case of EA's superb SSX 3, it's PlayStation 2 owners who are really going to get the most out of the slopes and their snowboards. As the third game in the popular EA SPORTS snowboarding franchise, SSX 3 manages to elevate its game to...

SSX 3

When one looks around at the freight train of games with 2s and 3s attached to their in 2003, it seems this year could easily be dubbed The Year of the Sequel. The perception thus leading one to believe the titles of 2003 are just sequels, more of the same - same concept, more levels, extra widgets, colored goatees, etc. True, to a certain extent, this. But there are two things these short-sided,...
