Haste Makes WasteStrengths: Decent gameplay, old-school vibe Weakness: Hastily constructed, doesn't exploit the 360's capabilities Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, or simply THAW for short, is not the strongest game in the Hawk franchise. Sure, the classic gameplay is intact, with some added features, but it just doesn't play out very well. Nothing in THAW really excels, particularly on the Xbox 360, where the game is truly lacking. 360 owners do get the satisfaction of earning achievements for their troubles, but they...

Tony Hawk's American WastelandStrengths: A solid entry in the Tony Hawk series Weakness: Not a big improvement over the last-gen versions Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is a departure from the recent Underground series that at the same time returns the game to it's origins. It is a more basic skating game in which you start off learning the basics and build up your available skill set as you progress. They have also added a little bit of BMX bike rising into the mix for a welcome (but not drastic) change. The 360 version has...

Skate or dieStrengths: Classic Tony Hawk gameplay with spiffy new graphics, good sound track Weakness: Not much innovation By now you now if you like this series or not. I have fun everytime I load it up, but never seem to commit enough to reach the end. The game controls great and has a cool soundtrack, but 60 bucks to play virtually the same game I did on Playstation one? Wait for a big price drop. 25 bucks is the sweet spot for me.

Ehh, was looking to relive my ps2 Tony Hawk days.Strengths: I like the game, it is very similar to the first one when your on classic mode. The control works better than it did on the ps2, it just feels smoother. Weakness: I don't enjoy story mode at all. It was the first mode I played and was really disappointed. If you mess up on one part of your challenge it makes you restart all of it! including the conversations. For the price, it's worth it. If you have never played tony hawk before than I would recommend playing other versions first, as this one is definatly not the best.

Tony Hawk Skates to Hollywood!Strengths: Online play, multiplayer Weakness: Poor story mode, average graphics American Wasteland has great online play capabilities as well as a great online and offline multiplayer function. However, the graphics do suffer when you compare it to some other titles on the 360 like Project Gotham Racing 3. After you see the crisp graphics in other games it leads you to believe that Wasteland isn't taking full advantage of the processing power of the 360. The controls work...

It really is Tony Hawk Pro Skater 7Strengths: Legacy Gameplay, Online Play, Fitting Soundtrack Weakness: Clunky story mode, little innovation, default controls are iffy If you don't like Tony Hawk games, this is not going to change your mind about the series, however, on the converse if you like the series, American Wasteland gives you much more of the same. You're given the option to play in a classic mode, the 2 minutes on the clock, and go achieve the predetermined goals, or the story mode, which plays much like THUG, but just based in LA. There's plenty of...

Not FunStrengths: not much Weakness: Loads This is not a great Tony Hawk game at all. It says free roam but there are still loads and the gameplay is not that fun. Graphics are decent, avoid if you can.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
As a dedicated fan of the Tony Hawk series, it was interesting to see how the series evolved from its early Tony Hawk Pro Skater years to its Underground phase. Each Tony Hawk game seemed to always pop up on a new console whether it was the Sega Dreamcast or the PlayStation 2, so it wasn’t a surprise when Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland landed as a launch title for the Xbox 360. Among the few... TopAdvertisement

Waste Your Time In The Wasteland!
Strengths: Online Play
Weakness: Graphics Compared To Xbox & PS2 Versions of Wasteland
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is the 7th Tony Hawk game to come out since the first Tony Hawk game on the original Playstation. In the story mode you will play as a kid that moves from the midwest out to LA and meets up with a skater girl named Mindy that shows you around. The story mode in itself is rather easy to new players and Tony Hawk veterans a like as the tasks are rather simple most of...
