Magna Carta: Tears of BloodStrengths: story, character design and development, box set Weakness: battle system This story is great. It has all the mature themes; class struggles, racism, scheming upheavals, mystery, and suspense. The character designs are spectacular, and the voice acting is decent. Calintz's voice actor is top notch. Definitely buy this game! it is excellent. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna Carta: Tears of BloodStrengths: Storyline, voice-overs Weakness: Graphics, complex battle system Magna Carta: Tears of Blood is a fairly average RPG. The storyline is engaging and the game’s character voice-overs are fairly well implemented. However, the graphics are a little dated. The game also has a fairly steep learning curve because of its hard to master, battle system. Overall, many RPG fans may want to give it a try, but considering the price tag, you may want to pass on it. 33% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

okStrengths: a pretty good story Weakness: very slow in the beginning, loading time is sooo slow I antisipated for this game ever since it was announce on the Atlus site. My first empression of this games was the aweful intro music. So people like, but I personally hate it. Playing the game, it progresses very slow. So be patient cause the loading time will kill you. The battle system is very unique, unlike the typical RPG ie Final Fantasy. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna CartaStrengths: Character designs, story Weakness: Battle system, slow gameplay Magna Carta is an interesting RPG that is certainly adequate for fans of the genre. There's a good storyline, interesting characters, and a unique graphical style. The main thing that keeps this from being a great RPG though is the pacing and the battle sequences. The battle system becomes almost a chore as battles are tedious and the press of a wrong button at the wrong time can ultimately lead to you repeating many fights. If you can get past the battles though, you are left with a pretty well told story and ultimately a satisfactory experience. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna CartaStrengths: Visuals, Sounds/Music, extras in the box set Weakness: Unforgiving & tedious battle system Magna Carta is another in the long line of RPG's to come out recently. The advantage Magna Carta holds over the others is a unique battle system and the inclusion of several extras in the box set. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Tears of BloodStrengths: Good story, settings, themes, box art Weakness: battles First off, the battle system is a love it or hate it type thing. I personally didn't like it but many people are in love with it. My main gripe is that it is too slow. However, all other aspects of this game are excellent. Plus, with the artbook and poster that comes with magna carta, there is no reason to not buy this game. Pick it up while you still can!!! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna CartaStrengths: Very nice graphics and artwork. Lots of extras with the game (artbook/strat guide). Weakness: Pricey, Bad voice acting, terrible battling system This is an OK RPG to the PS2 family. It of course is another Atlus title yet the game does not offer what some previous Atlus titles offered. The game does have amazing graphics and cinematics, however, the terrible voice acting was a quick killjoy of this game. The battling system is unique but rather slow and dull. The artbook/strategy guide is pretty nice. Some very nice pieces of art. The poster that comes with the game is alright, nothing real special. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna Carta: Tears of BloodStrengths: Good story, and nice characters designs Weakness: Slow loading time, even though the charcters design look good but graphic is not its strong point. If I have to give it a grade I would give this game a grade of B- to a B due to its story line, and the character designs.I like it enough for its story, but at time it can be frustrating due to the slow loading time and also the slow pace of the game itself. As for the battle system it can be either way. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Actually, once I got used to it it doesn't feel that bad any more. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Another good PS2 RPG.Strengths: Good story, setting. Weakness: Tedious combat system. Magna Carta is another in a recent rash of good, but not great RPG's for the PS2. It's not bad. It has a good story, interesteing characters, looks okay, and a decent complex system. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Korean Wave on PS2Strengths: great character design Weakness: poor battle system, long loading time. The first Korean RPG on PS2 is good effort, but there are many flaws. The character designs are amazing, easily some of the best among RPGs. However, the battle system is very weak. You can only have one character attack per action bar, making the battle very slow. The long loading time also doesnt help. The game has some good points, but overall there can be some improvements. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Magna Carta: Tears of Blood
Strengths: No random battles, excellent graphics and cut scenes
Weakness: Timed button presses for combat can get tiresome, high load times
Magna Carta is another deep and engaging RPG from that famed publisher of obscure RPG's - Atlus. This one features a real-time combat system where you must perform specific button presses in order to carry out a successful attack. This element might prove frustrating for many players (I prefer a simple turn-based system myself).
On the plus side there are no random encounters so combat can be avoided if desired. The story is deep and engaging and if you can stomach the combat system then this will be an excellent game to pick up. Like most Atlus titles it is hard to find and may never get cheap, but it is still out there and can be found with little difficulty for the time being, anyway.
