Auto ModellistaStrengths: Great sense of style, lots of car customization, close to 70 licensed cars Weakness: No car damage, soundtrack is somewhat boring Capcom’s Auto Modellista is an interesting approach to circuit style racing. The first thing you are going to notice about this game is the art style. This game uses cel shaded graphics to give the game a comic style look and I really enjoyed the presentation. The main career mode offers you a lot of customization and you can open up close to seventy licensed cars. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

sub par at bestStrengths: Cel shading Weakness: Everything but the graphics is subpar at best The graphics are really cool. One of the few games that has taken advantage of the Cel shading and definately gets plus points for that. Unofortunately, everything else pretty much stinks. It's not quite as reallistic as other games and it doesn't have much selection as far as tracks or cars is concerned. Overall this game is pretty poor, even for renting. Cell-shaded racingStrengths: Online play, original graphics Weakness: Weak gameplay, lack of cars and tracks Auto Modellista is a one trick pony. The draw is not much more than the fact that it is one of the only cell-shaded racers out there, and is therefore quite unique... the problem is that the game has very little substance to back up this burst of originality. The game has online play, but it is functional at best. The game has cars, but they feel bland and generic, and there are far too few of them. The tracks are nice, but again, there just aren't enough of them. Overall, this is a quirky little game you should experience for the graphics, but you'll find yourself bored with in no time at all. It's generally available very cheap, so perhaps it's not too bad a of a buy... I still advise you to stay away. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Steel BattalionStrengths: Cell Shade graphic Looks Kinda Cool for Awhile, Xbox Live Support &, Being able to customize your garage. Weakness: Racing sim mode is weak, A really unrealistic feel to the whole game. Not many car selection. This Game is Capcom attemp into the racing sim market. But believe me this game is no Gran Turismo or Sega GT. This has to be one of the worst racing sims game ever made. The game car physic seem to be way outta place, the car seem never to be attach to the road surface. on wet or dry surface, the car is totally unpredictable & handling is unbalanced. I totally dislike the whole racing mode, I however liked the Customize your own garage, placing poster, tools, tires & everything you can thing of that would be a garage. It was fun but not a saving grace for this game. I wasn't able to play this game online, since there was no one online with this game. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Auto Modellista
New ideas in racing games don't happen too often. So, when Capcom showed off Auto Modellista almost two years ago, the gaming world stood up and took notice. It had a very distinct look, and people hoped it would take the genre to a whole different level. The hype turned out to be just that -- hype -- and the PS2 version received very mixed reviews. Nearly one year after that game's release,... Top

Auto Modellista
Let us preface this by saying that most of us here at IGN love Capcom games, but you should already know this. If you don't believe us, take a look at our glowing Viewtiful Joe review. Most of the stuff from the Mega Man camp is usually blessed with a magical touch. Top

Disappointment
Strengths: Decent to look at, very deep in customization
Weakness: Online world is empty, doesn't feel like there is much to do.
Having been spoiled by racing games like the Burnout series or Project Gotham Racing, Auto Modellista just cannot compete. This is the type of game that sounds appealing, and looks interesting, but when you sit down and play, refuses to hold interest for very long. I mention these two series because they were constantly rewarding drivers or creating new challenges to hold interest. In Auto Modellista, besides car customization, there is not a great deal of depth. It is unfortunate the game is all but barren online, because racing the computer feels kind of soulless-odd when the world itself is so vibrant. Once the novelty of cel-shading wears off (and this happens by the second race), it is tough to want to continue playing. Even if the tracks had been more diverse or cars had shown damage, there are better racers out there more deserving of your time.
