Italian Job
Why do developers insist on proving the axiom that licensed games are never as good as original titles? Sure, there are the occasional exceptions to the rule, but by and large the generalization holds true. If it didn't, it wouldn't be a very good generalization now would it? Italian Job
Any game that enables you to speed a MINI Cooper down a flight of stairs then watch as the two cop cars chasing you crash head-on into a mangled mess can't be half bad. THE ITALIAN JOB
Strengths: car control is very good
Weakness: drab looking cars and environments
THE ITALIAN JOB is a racing game for the PS2. when u see how plain looking and boring this game plays, u feel like it is just another quick cash movie tie in that was made to coincide with the movie release. Gameplay is mostly racing circuit style against other cars but there are also moments when u have to flee from cops pursuing u. u can choose free roam of the drab looking city devoid of people or perform in some stunt courses where the key goal is to not fall off the narrow racing platform. The missions are not very exciting and the graphics and environments are very plain looking. Ur car controls and handles pretty well though, so I guess that is one bright spot. But if u really must play a good racing game, there are many others out there that are more exciting and offer better racing options like the Burnout series.
