The best soccer title on PSP as of now

Strengths: Great control, fast action, passionate music

Weakness: Lacking lasting appeal, poor graphics

this one of the only soccer games available on Playstation Portable, so I bought it two weeks ago and it turned out to be a hell of a game. The Controls are great since you can use the analog stick which makes it easier to move around. The great music blends perfectly with the fast-paced gameplay. But ths game had some short coming such as lasting appeal and poor graphics!

Good team play game

Strengths: Fast responsive player controls, good music, easy to pick up controls

Weakness: Very very low graphics, repetitive

The game itself was an ok play type game - I was not a big fan of the graphics at all. Even though the game was on the PSP, I could have mistaken it for a game on PS one. However, the music was good and I got fast response in terms of most of the loading and the controls were pretty easy to handle after just a short time playing the game.

World Tour Soccer

Strengths: Fun, arcade-like Soccer game

Weakness: Graphics a bit weak, outdated even for PSP

While not as deep or immersive as Winning Eleven, World Tour Soccer provides a fun, simplified, arcade soccer experience for the PSP. The graphics are OK for the PSP, but considering that this was a launch title that is to be expected. Now that this game is nearly a year old and has been supplanted by Winning Eleven 9 (and probably a new version of World Tour itself fairly soon) this game, if it can be found, should be fairly cheap. Look for it on clearance for a simple, fun, pick up and play soccer experience.

world tour soccer psp

Strengths: easy to control with analog stick

Weakness: graphics

I am not a big soccer fan, but I did like to play when I was younger, so I thought I might like this game. I guess you have to be a soccer fan to truely enjoy it. I never got very good at the game, because it was boring to me, so I never took the time to learn. I think the graphics could be a little better, but i do realize that there is a limit when playing a team sport on such a small screen, even one as good as the PSP.

Good game

Strengths: A fantastic soccer game. Good control and easy to use.

Weakness: Graphics is mediocre

This is a good game especially for soccer lover. Myself being a Manchester United fan loved the game. The analog stick is the best feature. Also, the overall ease of playing is good. I would recommend this game. However, if you are a graphics lover, this game might not please you. So, think before u buy...

Great Game

Strengths: Fun game with great controls. There are many teams to choose from and lots to do. Great great enjoyable and fun.

Weakness: Could have benefitted from a career mode of some sort. Not a game for everyone. I would recommened this to anyone looking for a fun soccer game.

Overall great game. Fun and enjoyable. Great AI and teams. Could have benefited from a career mode of some sort or a franchise mode. Many teams to choose from and overall and fun game.

Great Value

Strengths: Very Good Controls & Fast paced gameplay for a Psp game. Fairly inexpensive now that it's been out for a while. TON'S of modes availible.

Weakness: Inconsitant AI.

The best soccer game on the Psp & the cheapest.
A solid first effort for Sony on this game.
This is the game for Soccer fans.
I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

World Tour Soccer (PSP)

Strengths: Excellent challenge mode; fast-paced gameplay; loads of stuff to unlock; intuitive controls.

Weakness: Occasional player stupidity.

If you're in the market for a PSP soccer game this season you basically have only one decision to make: SCEE's World Tour Soccer or EA Canada's FIFA Soccer. If we were talking about those games' PlayStation 2 counterparts, the choice would seem an obvious one, but the PSP is an entirely different playing field. We're pleased to report that World Tour Soccer has adapted to the PSP extremely well. The game has a few flaws that you'll recognize if you've played last year's World Tour Soccer 2005 on the PS2 (soft goals and overly effective trick moves mostly), but most of that game's problems have been addressed. The result is a soccer game that, while not always realistic, is a lot of fun.

PSP soccer game

Strengths: Excellent graphics

Weakness: Bad control

This PSP soccer game is ok. The graphics and sound are great. The narrator is kind of annoying. Not too difficult to control, but something is kind of missing here. (maybe too simple and boring) Only recommend to soccer fans.

Soccer

Strengths: Graphics

Weakness: Boring old soccer game

This game was decent. It's gameplay was decent, graphics were decent. Then what's the problem? The game was just that, decent. It didn't have anything special about it, except a few courts. I wouldn't buy this one again...but it might be good for some people.

World Tour Soccer

Strengths: Nice graphics, lots of teams to choose from

Weakness: Terrible control, unbalanced AI, rediculously unbalanced refs, only 8 stadiums to play in, no FIFA license

I seem to be picking up all the Playstation rehashes on the PSP. Oh well. World Tour Soccer for PSP is almost identical to its PlayStation 2 older brother, which can be good and bad. Good in that it looks the same, bad in that it plays the same. There are 128 club teams, 86 international teams, 9 international classic teams, 9 classic club teams, 7 league all-star teams, and 6 international super teams to choose from, which is great. But for some bizarre reason, there are only 8 stadiums available to play in. Why?

Gameplay is also pretty flakey. Opponents are way too easy at the normal difficulty setting, so you'll be scoring like a fiend. Change the difficulty by one setting suddenly your opponent is an overwhelming wall of defense!!! The refs are also a lost cause as they'll quickly pull out a yellow flag on you if you trip someone, but your opponents pretty much can beat your team into the ground without a second look from the ref! Completely unfair! Passing is a chore as you may or may not get to your intended player, often times over shooting for no apparent reason. The computer seems to predict with almost 100% certainty where you're going with the ball and what plays you've set up making the game feel too unbalanced.

As mentioned before, on the up side, the game looks great for a handhelp and approaches PS2 quality. But without a FIFA license, it's all kinda bland. Again, great graphics aren't going to win the day without at least tolerable gameplay. And with the FIFA game also available, one would be hard pressed to suggest this game. Give it a pass, and I don't mean with the soccer ball. ;-)

Seven PSP Games Reviewed

Of all the sports titles available at the PSP's launch, World Tour Soccer provides the most depth for a hardcore fan. However, while this game is truly for the enthusiast rather than the casual gamer, its seems its developer forgot to include a career mode! Whether an oversight or an intentional omission, it's quite a disappointment.

World Tour Soccer

Knowing how important sports games are to the success of a console's launch, Sony made certain that their hottest sports games were ready for PSP's arrival. Games like Gretzky NHL, NBA, MLB, and unparalleled racing from Wipeout Pure (futuristic racing is a sport. What, you didn't know that?). Gran Turismo is on its way, but we don't know when just yet. Among the sports games to launch on the PSP,...
