DBZ Burst Limit (PS3)Strengths: DBZ gaming in HD Weakness: Seems like an upgrade from Tenkaichi This game marks the introduction of the Dragon Ball Z series into high-definition gaming. It is practically another installment of the Budokai Tenkaichi but in full-blown high definition. Controls are very similar to the previous installment, there are basic attacks and advanced moves which in the correct timing and combos can cause severe damages to your enemy. Story is a rather weak in the game. Besides attacks there are counter-attacks that you can use to your advantage before unleashing timed, advanced attacks upon your enemy. There is no explanation Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Now in HD!Strengths: Graphics, Japanese Voices, mindless fun Weakness: Online lag The first Dragon Ball Z game for this generation comes with a solid performance. If you like the Budokai series, then you'll probably enjoy this as well since it's pretty similar. It includes a pretty lengthy story mode which is where you'll spend a good amount of time in. You have your over the top moves included still and there's quite easy to pull off. Online is mixed, but at it's best it's like playing someone next to you. The visuals are excellent and overall, it's a good game. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Back to square 1Strengths: Graphics Weakness: Fairly shallow gameplay, shortened roster For some reason, every time a new series of DBZ fighters comes out, they feel a need to shrink the roster back down. The Budokai series reached 3, then Tenkaichi came out with less characters than Budokai 3. Now, after the insane number of characters of Tenkaichi 3, the roster has again dwindled to a more refined cast. Other than that, there's not a whole lot different. Graphics are amazing (really takes advantage of next gen hardware), but the fighting is fairly basic and masher friendly. Still, it's a lot of fun if your a fan. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? DBZ Burst LimitStrengths: Graphics Weakness: Story requires prior knowledge of the franchise Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is a HD gen only game. It has a good assortment of characters to choose from. The story is comprehensible mostly to fans only since there is no exposition to set up the unfolding events in the game. To most people, the story is only a series of fights chained up together. Dragon Ball Z for Next Gen Consoles
Strengths: Good graphics. Option for Japanese or English voice over.
Weakness: Story is only about 3/4 of the whole series. Character selection is less than that of the PS2 Tenkaichi series. Seems to be slimmed down version of the first Tenkaichi game with better graphics.
Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is the first Dragon Ball Z fighting game for PS3 and XBox360. The game is a mix of cel-shading 2D characters with 3D effects and environment. They seems to work seamlessly and offers great eye candy for the players. Burst Limit offers dual voice over options for the players that want English voice over or those that prefer original Japanese voice over.
While the graphics is good and have option for the choice of voice over, the story of Burst Limit seems to offer only about 3/4 of the whole series, not including the GT series. The character selection is much less than that of the PS2 Tenkaichi series. In fact, the character selection is less than the first game of the Budokai series. The graphics probably takes too much of the storage or something. With less characters and shorter story, Burst Limit is pretty much the slimmed down version of the first Tenkaichi game, in terms of graphics technology used and similar gameplay, but with better graphics.
Overall, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is a fair Dragon Ball Z fighting game. But for it being a "next gen" console game, it does not seem to be very good. Players would expect it to be more amazing than the previous games for the previous consoles. The graphics is good, but story and character selections are no match for the ones that released on PS2. And the gameplay is pretty much similar.
