Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome PCStrengths: New material, only 20 bucks. Weakness: Could of been released for free. Some say it's a rip off, but it's available for less than 20 dollars at lots of places. There is going to be another expansion pack and based on this one I will buy the next. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome PCStrengths: Pretty much the same as my Battlefield 1942 (standard version) review. The only thing that adds to the game is more maps. Weakness: I will type it out again. Pretty much the same as my Battlefield 1942 (standard version) review. Should have been a $10 upgrade. Or even should have just been able to download it all from their website. If you want it, go ahead and get it. 60% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

The Road to Rome focuses exclusively on the key Italian and Sicilian campaigns of WWII. Each map comes with highly detailed environments such as Italian houses, Mediterranean trees, and even the Monte Cassino Monastery. Here is a brief... Top

Battlefield 1942 Road to Rome
In the last three years, I've probably reviewed 40 games or so for GameSpy, most of them first-person shooters. I've also been known to ramble on occasion, but that shouldn't be a problem today, as there isn't a whole lot that needs to be said about The Road to Rome, the new expansion pack for Battlefield 1942. In fact, if you're in a hurry, here's the whole review in one bite-size paragraph: Top

Battlefield 1942 Road to Rome
No one can touch us. No man or woman is our equal. We soar high above all others. We sit at the crest of Olympus chatting it up with Gods and drinking the deepest of red wines, as peasants go strolling by far below, toiling away at meaningless jobs, feebly attempting to give their meaningless lives some sort of meaningless purpose. We are IGN. And today we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt why we... Top

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome PC
Strengths: I paid $20 for six maps?
Weakness: I paid $20 for six maps?
Don't bother -- just download new maps or mods online if you're bored with the regular old bf1942. This expansion is only for the true rat-pack, must-own-everything-related-to-this-game collector. Spend your time and attention downloading the G.I. Joe mod instead.
