Top Quality Game

Strengths: The Fighting Style

Weakness: None

The exciting fighting style makes you feel you are part of the game, just like the title says. I enjoyed the movie very much and this is the reason why I wanted to try the game. It turned out to be a very good idea, because this is a top quality game.

Atari Enter the Matrix PC

Strengths: Awsome graphics...great bullet-time and it doesn't get old I think the way it ties into the story line of the second matrix and animatrix. Over-all it is really fun. Also, the hacking is really fun.

Weakness: The person who wrote the last review is right about one thing...the AI when driving is absolutly awful...makes you want to put cheats on during driving levels(which thankfully aren't that often).

This game is definitly a good buy. The last person who wrote a review totally smashed it out of proportion and I just joined pricegrabber today so that I could write in the games defense. But he is definitly right about the whole driving thing...it is annoying but is compensated for by the other great aspects of the game. The part about not being able to do more than a few moves or not being able to control them is totally wrong and if you can't figure out how to control at least 15 moves easily your IQ is probably under 90. You have to be good at hand-to-hand to beat the swat teams that keep dropping from the helicopter. Anyway...great game definitly worth $50 (not that it's that much anymore...these days I think it's like $10). I look forward to the release of their next matrix game in May.

Atari Enter the Matrix PC

Strengths: The kicks, punches, and bullet-time are fun.

Weakness: Horribly old graphics, choppy controls, well that's enough isn't it?

This game ties into the story fairly well, but the gameplay, graphics, and controls make it feel overly rushed. Using a gamepad on the pc can be suicide. It takes hours to get the feel for the controls. Leave this one on the shelf and pick up something newer, if you're in the market.

Matrix fun, kind of

Strengths: Bullet-time that allows for evasion or fight. Sort of ties into the movies as it was promoted.

Weakness: Controls are not very good. Sound effects and voice acting are not really good. Four CDs for installation. A.I. can be stupid at times.

This is one of the first Matrix games available. The game allows you to go into the Matrix world, walk and do stuffs among them, kind of like what you saw in the movie. The game, however, puts the player with another team rather than Neo's team, allowing the player to see world of Matrix through other people. The slow moving bullet dodging bullet-time offers great enjoyment, a feature that was in Max Payne game before. It allows you to evade oncoming attack so you lose little to no health, it also allow you to fight the enemies with more precision, but most of player probably use it to dodge attacks to be like Neo in the movie.:) The game sort of ties into the movies, but not that much, it describes what the other team that shows in the movies goes through and such.

The control itself is bad, it does not offer very smooth controls that players might want. The sound effects and voice acting are slightly below average, which with four CDs for installation, the quality is below expectation. Speaking of four CDs for installation, kind of painful to have to change the CDs and wait for it to install, which takes quite a bit. The A.I. for both player and computer part can be dumb sometimes. Players might find it frustrating when it happens, but might be relieved when it occurs to the enemies.

The game does offer slight fill in the gap to the movies, just do not expect it to be very big or great. Do not expect to be like Neo or move like Neo, even though you can mimic parts, but there are limitations on what you can do in this game, and for one, you are not playing Neo. For the Matrix fans, this is a fun game to own, but do not expect it would be mind blowing. For those that are not, this is still a good game to play.

Atari Enter the Matrix PC

Strengths: REAL bullet-time, added story-line, excellent actors and cutscenes, ability to "hack the matrix" to cheat

Weakness: very repetitive, gets old VERY fast, both characters are identical except the driving and sniper scenes, the Niobe AI during the driving scenes is VERY stupid, price

I bought this the day it came out. It was pretty good at first and the bullet-time was fun to play with but that soon became very old. The moves are nearly impossible to regulate and you often end up using the same move over and over. They hyped up the game to claim that "you would never get the entire story without watching the movie and beating the game." While that may be partially true, the parts that you would miss are very unconcicuential parts that would typically be cut out of a movie to begin with. The AI during the driving scenes killed me many times because it would drive me into a pole or even the side of a building and just sit there or repetedly back up and hit it again. While this may have been fun and interesting, it wasnt worth the price. Only hard-core Matrix fans that've seen and understood The Matrix: Reloaded should buy this game.

Enter Matrix

THERE'S SO MUCH GOING ON in Enter the Matrix, it's hard to know where to begin. There's an original story that continually intertwines and intersects with the plot of The Matrix Reloaded, written by Matrix creators Andy and Larry Wachowski. Gameplay covers a number of genres, including fighting, shooting, driving and flying. There's even new Matrix footage shot on the set of the sequels, with...

Enter Matrix

God loves, hype kills. Marketing departments everywhere are doing such a thorough job that it seems every other day, a new entertainment property emerges that is heralded as the be-all, end-all experience ever to grace a movieplex, television screen or concert stage. Usually, the new best thing cannot stand up under the weight of expectation.
