Devil May Cry 2 PS2

Strengths: More eye candy, expansive levels, less jumping puzzles, more button specific moves to advance.

Weakness: Less specialized attacks, weaker RPG element, levels can sometimes be too large, much easier to complete.

After a friend and I spent our summer beating DMC 1 on "Dante Must Die" and going for under 1.5 hour speed records on "Easy Auto," we knew coming in that DMC 2 would be easy. This thing was indeed super easy cheesey. We powered through it in about 3 hours without using much devil trigger or any items.

However, it was still super fun with all the new moves, jumping around everywhere. The guns are pretty overpowered and there's a few spots where bosses can't really touch you. The moves give greater depth and flexibility to the game, and the open ended style to it all makes it very replayable if you want to just bust the skills or go for speed records. There's plenty of adventuring to do if you're bored, orbs to find, weapons to get, etc.

Overall, the things have changed, the boys at Capcom are experiementing with a slightly different style so it's a little odd. However, they're easy to see past, and down to the bones, it's still a fun game to play. Plus, you can get it on ebay or second hand for super cheap, so why not?

Devil May Cry 2 PS2

Strengths: Awesome, very fun.

Weakness: Very short, very very very easy.

Its hard to explain this game. Its sort of a button smasher game that you would spend hundreds of dollars at the arcade on. But the way your character can move, and double jump ect. is just awesome. Its way to short to buy unless you just love it that much but it is definately worth checking out.

Devil May Cry 2

I don’t know how to say this. Maybe I could start with a little background on the first Devil May Cry, or talk about the legacy that the original game created over a year ago – but the fact of the matter is that those things would just prolong the inevitable of having to say that DMC2 is something of a disappointment. Ok, a major disappointment. One of the most anxiously anticipated titles of...

Devil May Cry 2

With their formidable knowledge and strong opinions, you'd think that video game critics could create fantastic games -- but the history of critics-turned-developers is, in fact, a trail of tears. You've never played a critic-designed Grand Theft Auto, or even a critic-designed Drome Racers; instead, you've been subjected to such experiments in terror as Legion: The Legend of Excalibur and Whirl...

Devil May Cry 2

As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, Capcom will make a sequel. The company that practically wrote the book on sequels with the Street Fighter II series has returned from the wellspring of gothic action with the sequel to one of 2001's biggest hit titles, Devil May Cry. Given a relatively short cycle and a handful of new team members, Capcom's coolest game ever has taken the...
