Silent Hill on your PSP!Strengths: + puzzles can be challenging + storyline will surpise fans + great atmposphere settings Weakness: - short gameplay - camera angles may seem off at some points- In this Silent Hill the main character is Travis. The town is covered in fog of course as in other Silent Hill games, although this option can be removed to enhance the graphics once the game is finished. New to this SH game is melee options, which can be picked up. The story line ties up some loose ends that may have leave fans questioning. Once the game is finish there are unlockable items such as costumes and more ammo! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Silent Hill Origins
Silent Hill … there’s no town quite like it in America. It’s a township rich with history but sadly said history isn’t good. You see, travelers that find themselves entering the town will find a place that’s cursed or, perhaps, caught in the middle of a dimensional rift that is somehow connected with a tragic incident that destroyed most of the town. Silent Hill Origins (PSP)
Strengths: (1) Great graphics (2) This is Silent Hill that you can take with you
Weakness: (1) The Silent Hill series has great atmosphere but the gameplay really needs some innovation
Silent Hill Origins for the PSP is a great portable game. Granted, you really need to be in a quiet, dark place to get into the game but once this is accomplished, you can really enjoy the setting, atmosphere and suspense. The team that created Silent Hill Origins (PSP) did a great job of recreating the classic Silent Hill feel, however, at this point I really feel like the gameplay needs some innovation. The morbid, but usually simple, puzzles that used to really add to the horror are pretty much done by-the-numbers here and I think their effectiveness has worn off since the series inception. The main character, Travis, also is not as interesting or memorable as previous characters - perhaps because his tie-in to the first game (PSX) keeps us locked into story we are already familiar with. All the other games in the series (even SH3, which was a follow-up to SH1) seemed further removed from the original games plot so that they could present a fresher experience. However, Silent Hill Origins is still very enjoyable for fans of the series and it has great graphics. I also appreciate that the monsters are more dangerous and frightening than the mostly lumbering foes in previous Silent Hills. Overall, a great PSP game and a must-have for series fans.
