Strengths: Gameplay and Fire-power

Weakness: none so far...great platformer

Ratchet and Clank really shows how good a platformer can be. It is creative and inventive on so many levels, from the characters that are funny and have great voices, to the amazing enviroments that get bigger and better on every level to the dozens of gadgets and weapons that cna be used in a bunch of different ways. When i played this game it really made me think that video games have become a real artform, and this one it one of the best!!!

Strengths: every single thing in this game is a strength

Weakness: none what so ever!!

This game is easily the best PS2 game ever created. It's lifelike graphics make it seem like you are in the game. I accidently saved over a file that I got really far on but that doesn't matter. I'm sure the 36 weapons and gadgets will keep me busy for a while. If you don't have Ratchet and Clank get it. If you don't have PS2, get PS2 and then get Ratchet and Clank. Right now even at 3:00 A.M because you will be playing it forever.

So this game looks like a cutesy cartoon game right? Ohhhh, look at the simple little mammal and his robot buddy jump and run. This game should be easy as pie cause it’s made for kids!

WRONG!

This is one of the most sophisticated platform games I have ever seen, and I have been a gamer for a long time. It is a true testament to the power of the Playstation 2 that this game was created! This is an artwork that has raised the bar of what should be expected of all future games in the genre. It is without equal the best LOOKING game that I have seen in a long time, which is a pretty strong compliment considering that it IS the PS2 and there have been some hot games out there!

You play Ratchet, an interstellar grease monkey (fox-cat-furry thing) who meets the lovable and uptight robot, Clank. Clank enlists his help to save the solar system in exchange for starting up Ratchet's spaceship (which is quickly demolished). I guess Ratchet was really bored with his provincial life, because he and Clank head off throughout the galaxy in various ships collecting one of the widest assortment of weapons and gadgets I have ever seen (over 35!). They blast robots and monsters into oblivion and fight valiantly against the imperialist evildoers of the universe. The story itself is really great with fun characters, high quality animation and good solid performances!

I really started off hating that uppity little clank. But, despite myself, I started loving him. Especially when he starts getting his upgrades. What’s not to love about helicopter backpacks, jetpacks and pet giant robots, I ask you!

Then there is the gameplay! Can you say PERFECT? There is this amazing learning curve that you go through when playing the game. You start off with just two weapons and simple controls. As time wears on, you get more and more gadgets and more and more movement possibilities. The world starts to blossom open, with new areas becoming available that you never would have thought of. You have to get a new item or gadget to unlock another level, which opens up more items that unlock info-bots that show you the way to a new planet… It is so much fun. Be prepared for a truly massive game world. Fly to the edges of the galaxy busting robot tail! You will be impressed. Seriously!

Three words: Chicken Morphing Gun. Nuff Said.

The game is a masterful execution of what a Playstation 2 game should be. This is one you are going to want to spend some time with. It will quickly become like an old friend! It is a sweet, sweet game that you will find yourself getting seriously addicted to!

Ratchet & Clank

Strengths: Very fun. Great selection of cool guns nad gadgets that are fun and funny.

Weakness: None.

Great Funny game with great gameplay and strange planets and people. Great game for all ages. Saving up for the r.y.n.o. gun and golden guns will keep you playing over and over. Can be very challenging at times but still a great play.

Strengths: Huge gaming world, special items galore!

Weakness: only one player

Yes, I love this game. It is probably one of the greatest games I have ever played, and that is a bold statement because I play a lot of games! The game is so cool, the graphics are really smooth and the controls are right on the money. I especially like the learning curve for new moves. The game teaches you a lot as time goes on so that when you are further along, you have this whole big toolbox of new moves to throw at the game. I strongly recommend this game to gamers of all levels!

Ratchet & Clank

Strengths: Awesome weapons, intense graphics slammin soundtrack

Weakness: Haven't found any glitches yet

R&C is probably my fav of all the new PS2 games. The graphics are so amazing and the soudntrack, is so freakin trippy it cracks me up. The best part of the game is the weapons and gadgets. After about 4 weeks of playign i still haven't figured out the different uses for everything, but thats part of what makes it so fun. You are just moving thru the levels and you you stumble across a new way to use soemthing. ALl and all i'd say its a tight game

Strengths: amazing gameplay, great challenges at higher levels, cool graphics & sound, 36 weapons (including the chicken morph gun), and unmatched replayablity.

Weakness: hmmm. let me get back to you on that one. I haven't found any yet!

This game is mad fun! I was expecting your average stupid jump around and grab things bore, and instead I got a magical world that I couldn’t put down. There are like 35 weapons in this game, plus powerups, plus upgrades for your robot, plus tons of new moves, plus good story. It rules!

The game areas are huge, with new aspects of each opening up as you continue to play. Like when you get the “swingshot,” whole new levels open up. I have so much fun in this game. It is definitely the best platform game experience that I’ve had since that first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog on the old Genesis! I just couldn’t put it down. The control systems were great, allowing whole new moves that open up over time.

It felt like I was playing a living-breathing cartoon. The cut scenes actually add to the game, rather than take you out of it (for once). The characters are rich and interesting and the acting is top notch. Music and graphics are great! (Note: the big top pee wee theme on Araris)

All in all, this is a great game. Play it. Go out and buy it.

Strengths: Exciting gameplay

Weakness: None...firepower rules

This game is the ultimate shot em up game for PS2. This missions are easy and firepower is grand. This game is better than I had expected to be. Please dont be a fool, check it out for yourself and dont miss out!!!

While Ratchet & Clank's play mechanics differ from other games in the genre, the controls are mostly the same. The camera is very flexible, more so than in Insomniac's previous game, Spyro the Dragon. However, it moves a bit slow, and thus comes across as being sluggish, not silky-smooth.
