Dynasty Warriors 5! Whoohoo!Strengths: The Draw distance issue is better than any other series, meaning you can see farther and stuff won't just "appear" out of nowhere. Weakness: All in all, it's pretty much like the other DW games. This game is great for anyone who likes hack n' slash games. Also, if you're even slighty interested in ancient China's history, this game might be for you. You won't learn much really, but it's a plus when you can use famous people from Chinese history. The only complaint is it's pretty much like other DW games, from a mainstream gamer's point of view. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Dynasty Warriors 5Strengths: A very good action game especially with two players. Weakness: Very similar to other games in the series. Dynasty Warriors 5 is very similar to the other games in the series with some minor improvements. It is one of the best games for fighting epic battles on any system. If you have never played a dynasty warriors title then get this one immediately. If you have played others then it is still good if you have not grown bored of the formula/setting for the game already. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Another addition to Dynasty Warriors seriesStrengths: Great graphic details! More characters to choose from! More maps and detailed environments! More weapons with different attributes to enhance players' characters! Included few fun mini-games! Weakness: Based on history, story lines remain relatively unchanged, which made game repetitive. Bodyguard system is not as good as before. Characters have to be unlocked before using them. Poor voice over. Fifth installment of Dynasty Warriors game released in US and fourth one that is presented on PS2. The graphic details have been improved over previous games in the series without major slow downs. There are more characters available to choose from, even those that are previously unavailable for story mode are possible for use this time. The only down side is that it gets tedious trying to unlock them. The number of items available for acquire seems to remain fairly the same. The weapons, even the most basic ones, can have more than one attribute to help enhance the characters more! Just like the previous games in the series. When receive better weapons, it can allow you to do additional combos. Though in this game, the weapons have weigh class that might affect how the characters can wield the weapon effectively. KOEI also included few mini-games that allow you to set your own record depends on the requirements. Those are fun alternatives to the story mode. The story lines, however, story lines are relatively the same as previous ones, even with the addition of some stages, because it is based on history and KOEI tried to remain true to the historically. Therefore, those that have played the previous ones might lost interest in it fast, because it is repetitive. The bodyguard system is not as good as before, even though you can do musou attack with the bodyguard. But you only get to have one bodyguard instead of a group as before. And the bodyguard is basically useless unless they receive certain level ups. There are more characters available in this game than the previous ones, however, you have to unlock many of them before you can use them and it would get tedious at times since you might required to play certain story lines few times before unlocking certain characters. The voice over in this game is not as good as they should be and might not seem good to some. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A good, if formulaic game.Strengths: Lots of enemies to fight at once, excellent setting Weakness: Repetitive, not much different from DW4 DW5 is a beat-em-up game set in Ancient China. With an expansive cast and large number of stages, you will be fighting across China against vast numbers of enemies. To do this, you will be pushing Square. A lot. If you've played other Dynasty Warriors games, you know exactly what to expect. The battlefield has been enlarged, there's no more slowdown and even more enemies pack the screen. However, it plays nearly identical to DW4. If you like the DW series, you'll love this game. If you didn't like previous DW games, nothing here will change your mind. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A decent action gameStrengths: A decent action game - large cast of playable characters means everyone can find a favorite. Weakness: Not much has changed in the formula - AI needs improving. Dynasty Warriors 5 carries on the great tradition of other games in the series. Choose a warrior and lead your side to greatness, in vast maps where your involvement can greatly change the outcome. The game is loosely based on history, and the characters themselves all have unique and distinct personalities. 82% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A fun hack/slashStrengths: Play as one of 48 characters, perform some cool combo attacks, and search for hidden weapons. Weakness: In order to see the full story, you have to play as each of the 48 characters... that's a lot of playing time! Let me start off by saying this is the first Dynasty Warriors game I have played. That being said, I had a lot of fun with this title. The point of the game is to choose your starting character and then change the tide of war as you fight through hoards of armies, taking out captains, officers, and other important figures. You get to have a bodyguard to help you fight as you conquer evrything in your path. Also, hidden amongst crates, barrels, and sometimes even on the bad guys are new weapons that will mak fighting easier. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Dynasty Warriors 5Strengths: Keeps to the Dynasty Warrior franchise, has great visuals. Music is way better than in DW4. Weakness: Dynasty Warriors 5 is pretty easy to play through and doesn't have too much depth. Not much has changed since DW 3 and 4 besides graphics/music. Gameplay is pretty much the same. As always with the DW series, this game is a great hack and slash for anyone who just likes to take and sword and slash at hundreds of opponents. Very easy to get anyone to play and any kid who walks up to this game will easily be intrigued by its ease of use. More mature individuals will take to heart the background story behind this which entails the fight between who gains control of ancient China. Not much difference from the first couple games in the series, so if you want to test this game I recommend renting it first or buying the prequels (DW3 or DW4, DW2 only has one-player mode..). Since it takes a while to beat a game, picking only one of these would be sufficient. 64% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Good but boring after a whileStrengths: Non stop action, huge fighting scenes, never ending enemies Weakness: Kind of repetitive after a while I would rent this game rather than own it. The gameplay is exellent and challenging but after a while, everything seems repetitive. If you played the first few episodes, this is going to be deja vu for you. So, buy if you are a first timer but rent if you have played other DW games. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Dynasty Warriors 5
Time flies when you’re having fun, and few things are more fun than videogames. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that KOEI released Dynasty Warriors 2. At that time, each day was a struggle to see how much time I could steal away to play through the different PS2 launch games. Whether it was skipping class (which I am now highly opposed to!), or locking myself in the basement with a few... Top

Dynasty Warriors 5
With the release of Dynasty Warriors 5, KOEI is putting out its 10th Warriors game on consoles if you include the Samurai Warriors titles. It's been a crazy amount of hacking and slashing and the relentless pace has by no means stopped with this title. The gameplay has been tweaked and refined just a little further to make this a new enough experience even if the core game hasn't changed all that... Top

Dynasty Warriors 5
Strengths: Pretty characters, Nice graphics, More hack and slash action!
Weakness: Similar to the other Dynasty Warriors game
Like the previous Dynasty Warrior games, this is a hack and slash game with large levels and lots of enemies to destroy. The graphics and sound are really nice compared to the older games in the series. The story is OK. The game is fun to play with friends and is rather difficult on the hardest setting. Overall a fun game that will consume hours of your time. A must have if you are a fan of hack and slash games/a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series!
