Buy this game!

Strengths: Great soundtrack, good game flow/story.

Weakness: Learning curve harder than GHII or GH Aerosmith

I liked this game so much that I bought a second copy when my first one got scratched. It makes a great party game, especially with the new battle mode (those can be pretty tough in single-player mode). Overall, it's one of my favorite games, if not the most.

great music game

Strengths: lots of great tracks, xbl multiplayer, improved graphics

Weakness: can be difficult, boss battles are a pain, must play 2 player co-op to unlock all songs

Guitar Hero 3 is the follow up to GH1 and 2. It's developed by a different developer but the gameplay remains the same, with the addition of annoying boss battles. The boss battles don't really add anything except frustration, but the rest of the game plays like the other Guitar Hero games and features a great number of tracks.

Rock\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\...

Strengths: Songs that most of us all know and love. Fun and entertaining with the song choices.

Weakness: Difficulty doesnt increase enough or increases too much for certain songs. Doesnt balance out enough.

I really like this game. When you first start playing it, you may recognize a lot of songs that you like. To me, most of the songs are up to date at least from 2006-now. Songs I think are a lot more intense with beats and guitar parts. Songs even make you wanna replay them again, or on a harder difficulty. Very addicting if you are into these kinds of games.

Fun and Addictive Game

Strengths: Unique encore songs in Co-op mode are a nice surprise. Sharper graphics. Battlemode is interesting and fun between 2 players. Wireless controller available for the Xbox 360 (finally).

Weakness: Difficulty increases very quickly compared to previous versions. (May be a pro for some sadists.) Selection of bonus songs for in-game purchase is weak.

I owned and played Guitar Hero 2 prior to buying Guitar Hero 3 for someone as a gift. The entire series is well-known for being fun and addictive, and GH3 is no exception. The most significant additions are the bonus encore songs you can play in co-op mode and the competitive battle-mode feature. They've also updated the graphics and added new songs. As usual, you will find a mix of songs that are well-known and ones that are not.
The difficulty curve rises very steeply in GH3 compared to other versions. I am used to playing on HARD difficulty with no problems and EXPERT with a little work, but I found several of the HARD difficulty songs in GH3 as unmanageable as former EXPERT-level songs, even with a little practice. This might be a good thing for people who found the previous versions too easy. For those who were interested in unlocking Xbox-Live achievements, the experience may be a bit frustrating.

Guitar Hero 3 Legends Of Rock Steals the Whole Show

Strengths: Brand New Look, A full list of new songs, more items to buy, Challenging tracks

Weakness: almost no story, not enough of a complete improvement,

Guitar Hero 3 is a quite game. Adding the old elements of the first two,but still bringing the challenge that everyone bought this game for. Neversoft has redesigned all it's menus so the player will not feel familiar. Just about everything about the game is good. The soundtrack is absolutely the selling one of the game. It ranges from a variety of recording artist. From The Smashing Pumpkins to Rage Against the Machine. My only complaint is that the games feels just about the same as the last game and really bringing nothing new to the series. But besides that it's worth your money and I'll promise you it will be a decision you won't regret.

Awesome Game

Strengths: You don't have to know how to play a guitar to play this game!

Weakness: Hmmm....more songs maybe other than that it's great

We got this game about a week ago. It is GREAT we love playing. Had lots of fun watching each other try to play some of the harder songs. This game is great fun, some of the characters are not for the little ones so the game's rating is accurate. Other than that great product!

IT ROCKS!!!

Strengths: Addictive game play, new consecutive notes hit counter, online capabilities

Weakness: No matter how many songs they give me, I WANT MORE!!!

Let's be honest. This game is as close as most of us are ever going to get to being a rock legend. Yeah, it's a plastic guitar, but you would have to be crazy to not think that this game is just plain fun! I love the new consecutive notes hit counter, but it keeps making me screw up because my eyes are drawn to it in the middle of playing. The online capabilities are spectacular, but I wish there were more songs to download. If you really want the full effect of how fun this game is, get a second controller to share with friends and family. The only problem then is putting up with the "my turn" shouts when people are over.

Guitar Hero 3

Strengths: Great song selection

Weakness: nothing

Guitar Hero 3 is pretty much everything you wanted from Guitar Hero 2 and more. With master tracks from popular artists, the game is better in ways than its predecessor. Graphics look a bit better than the previous version. Overall, if you liked GH2 then you definitely should pick this up.

Great Songs But Off On Gameplay Difficulty

Strengths: Much better songs from actual artists, slightly better graphics, boss battles

Weakness: Easy is too Easy, Medium is much harder this time around, not many boss battles.

Not being a great guitar hero player, I easily zipped through the easy level this time scoring a lowest 97% except for Raining Blood. Thinking maybe I'll do pretty good on medium, I was wrong. The notes go much faster that GHII and there are more blue notes. Pretty large ramp up from easy. I can only imagine what Rainging Blood will be like.

What makes this game so much better is that the songs are better and they are the actual artists instead of "as preformed by" which plagued GHII. The graphics have been spruced up a bit on this one. What makes this game better and what is also lacks more of is the boss battles. They are really fun, but there are only 3 of them in the game. Maybe more will be added via downloadable content in the future.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves music and would like to jam to my all time favorite song "One" by Metallica. Let's hope for more Metallica and some Disturbed songs soon.

Guitar Hero III (Xbox360)

Strengths: battle mode, new venues, great graphics, superb audio, and tons of replay value, great party game

Weakness: needs more speed/heavy metal tracks, too trendy sometimes

another great installment to the Guitar Hero franchise. Great gameplay, addictive fun time. Hours of replay value. Wish they would have included more speed/heavy metal songs on here...hopefully all the downloadable content will make this shine even more. Highly recommended!

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

No offense to Richie Valens, Buddy Holly or The Big Bopper; for many rhythm game fans, the day that it was revealed that Harmonix was to be bought by Mtv and would not be producing the third entry to the wildly popular Guitar Hero franchise was truly the day the music died. With Harmonix working away diligently on their brand new franchise for Mtv (Rock Band, perhaps you’ve heard of it) and...
