Strategy First O.R.B. PCStrengths: Nice premise. Very good attention to detail. Weakness: Half-baked. A lot of boring elements. Unoriginal. I finished the campaign in the game and although for the most part I enjoyed it, there was a lot I hated about the game. Overall it's a half-baked version of Homeworld with slightly improved visuals. Strategy First O.R.B. PCStrengths: Visually stunning, emersive game play, multiplayer able Weakness: Sound effects of battles are a little weak, and multiplayer option is limited to 4 players atm. This RTS game will lull you into letting time slip away, with it's beautifully rendered backdrops and sound track. But there is a life-and-struggle going on here folks, not a minute to spare. The same engine as Home World Cat, just the best 2D/3D game ever, with many tweaks, a must have tittle for it's vision alone, plus there is a darn good game in it, to boot... O.R.B.
Anyone who follows the production of big-buzz RTS titles knows that O.R.B.: Off-world Resource Base was a very long, arduous time in the making. GameSpy published the first in a series of O.R.B.-related developer's diaries back in May of 2000, and at the time, its imminent release seemed far closer than two-and-a-half years away. Top

O.R.B.
Pretty. Slow. Frustrating. Uninteresting. These are all words that describe O.R.B., the new fully 3D space RTS from Strategy First that's been in development for going on 50 years now I think. After tons of delays I had expected to receive a nicely polished, well balanced, and interesting strategy game. Instead I found a game that is presented well and looks pretty good, but lags in the gameplay... Top

O.R.B.
One thing I must say right from the start. I like explosions. The bigger the better and they have to be nice and loud. When I send a squadron of fighters to destroy an enemy I expect to see a beautiful bright flash of eye candy. While battling through O.R.B.’s tutorial mission’s explosions take the form of a sort of television static instead. The obliterated ship just breaks up into hundreds... Top

Strategy First O.R.B. PC
Strengths: beautiful, stunning universe powerful ships and especially the story behind the game is exceptional. The graphics are stunning.
Weakness: The battle sounds. The Alyssian campaign ended rather suddenly. It needed at least two more missions to conclude the campaign smoothly. You can not build ships from the captured cariers.
I really enjoyed this game. I am a professional in astrophysics and I liked the astronomical details in the game. The story of the game is highly original. The high-tech religious story with its prophecy is also very original. I really enjoyed the introduction video of the game. O.R.B. is similar to the Homeworld game which I also liked very much. I would rate it ten stars if I could. I would like to see and play a sequel of the game (or more). If Strategy First would come up with 100 sequels I'll buy them all. The assault carriers of the Mallus are the best. The destroyers of both races are good looking and powerful. I highly recommend it.
