Star Ocean: TTEOT

Strengths: Real-time battle system, storyline, voice-acting

Weakness: Some dungeons can be extremely long, gets difficult later on in the game

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is a great role-playing game. It has a very interesting plot and storyline and the voice-acting is exceptional. The thing I like most about the game is the real-time battle system. You can attack or charge a more powerful attack in real-time and so can your enemies. This enables you to be able to attack or stay clear of an enemy that is charging his attacks rather than waiting for your turn to come up and possibly being obliterated in the process.

The drawbacks to the game are that you MUST level up. If you do not, later on in the game, you will be severely outmatched by your enemies. This causes you to fight numerous monsters to keep your characters strong. Also, some of the dungeons you enter are very long and hard. There really is no way to determine how deep the dungeon may be, so make sure to prepare your characters to the fullest before entering ANY dungeon. Overall, this game is fun if you like RPGs and I highly recommend it.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Great Graphic, Perfect Music SoundTrack, Loveable characters, Amazing Storyline, 50+ hours Quests! Over 2-+ endings! Tons of replay Value!

Weakness: None, Beside the $50 price tag & Wishes this game could Never end!

Star Ocean 3: Til' The End of Time for the Sony playstation 2 is Gotta be one of the best RPG ever! And I'll admit I played them all, If you finished Final Fantasy X & X-2, this is the next to get! This the 3rd Game in the series, where Star Ocean: The Second Story was released many years ago on the Playstation 1, was alo one of my Favo. This is much of the same with action battle system, not turn base like Final fantasy.

Pros: One Really Unique Amazing Story! Attracting Loveable Character! Nice Clean Great Graphic! Enjoyable catchy soundtrack! Tons of replay value! over 20+ endings.

Cons: None, If you Love Action RPG Games w/ Great Story this is for you, And Game is Pricey for around $50 plus taxes.

Overall: *** 5 OUTTA 5 STARS *** MUST BUY!

Excellent

Strengths: Gameplay, interesting story

Weakness: Slow-going at the beginning, "the plot twist"

Well, having spent approximately a hajillion hours on this game, I have to say it's one of the finest in existence.

The gameplay is exquisite, and once you're done playing a game once or twice, let's face it - the only thing left to play it for is the gameplay itself. The battle system is fast-paced and real-time. You can choose to have whatever party of 3 you'd like (feel free to move the main character to the sidelines immediately, if you so choose), and you can control whichever character you prefer. The AI controls the other two characters.

You have a ton of options for customization, but not so much that characters lose their individuality - you have the vast field of item-creation to explore, and you can set up the skills your characters take into battle however you desire.

Battle trophies - There are 300 trophies you can win for performing certain tasks in battle. Trophy collection is the unlocking mechanism for the game. Things you can unlock include new outfits, higher difficulty levels (difficulty levels in an RPG? UNHEARD OF!), a music test, and a battle-system enhancement.

The plot. Ah the plot. No, I won't ruin anything for you. Let's just say it's slow going for a while, and the infamous "plot twist" comes COMPLETELY out of left-field. It's made some people put the game down. If you keep an open mind (and/or love the battle system enough), I'm sure you'll be fine, though.

What can I say? I love this game. It's a Greatest Hits title now, so the price is right - do yourself a favor and pick it up.

A thoroughly and well developed game

Strengths: replay value

Weakness: too long - starts to get boring

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (henceforth known as SOTET)is a role-playing game where you command the fate of Fayt (pun intended) Leingod, a college student from earth in the distant future. Galactic confrontations force Fayt to separate from his loved ones, and Fayt must survive as many people attempt to capture him for unknown reasons.
There are many things that are enjoyable in the game:
1) The battle is real-time, and not turn based. If you want a change in pace, this might interest you.
2) The item creation feature in the game allows you to develop weapons, armor, accessories, food, and medicine. Not only can you create weapons and armor, but you can make what you have stronger.
3) The game has many twists and turns, and multiple endings to achieve. Different plays through the game yield changing character dialogues, different playable characters, and thus different battle tactics.
4) The voice acting in the game is good, particularly in the cases of Cliff Fittir and Albel Nox (I'm pretty sure he's Albedo in the Xenosaga games), as well as Nel, all playable characters.
5) The game is long and it has replay value so that you can create a totally different party, set of items, events, and decisions in your second and third quests.

I highly recommend this game to any and all RPG enthusiasts.

Till the End of Time

Strengths: Battle system, characters

Weakness: Plot wasn't explained fully

I just picked up this game when it became greatest hits and it is really good. the game is long, the characters are likable, and the plot was pretty good. There was one thing that bothered me about the plot but I don't want to spoil anything. I recommend picking up this game if you haven't. The battle system is great. Give it a try.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Graphics, sound, and length of game.

Weakness: Gameplay can be tedious and the game takes an odd turn in the middle.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is a RPG for PS2. You play as Fayt as his world gets attacked. The game plays like a typical turn-based RPG. This version includes all the upgrades that the Japanese got in the Directors Cut version of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. Big flaw in the game is that in the middle a huge event happens and the main character doesn't even show signs of it afterwards. Its like it never happened to him.

Give the game 3 stars for being an average RPG.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Anime look, cutscenes, great real time battle system, good soundtrack.

Weakness: Sappy and cliched story, graphics could be better.

This game feels much like Star Ocean 2 on the Playstation one. If you liked that game, then you will definitely like the new one on Playstation 2. Tri-Ace has brought back all the familiar elements - graphics, sound and battle system. I really like the battles in this game because it's real time and not turn based. This makes the game a lot more interesting although the action can get quite intense and difficult to keep track of. The graphics are inspired by anime but I wish they could have been better. The music is heavily synth and features a lot of rock type music. While the story is good, it isn't quite as epic or as deep as many of the great RPGs of our time. I really hope Square Enix continues to produce Star Ocean games because most of their games seem to be changing to a new style lately. Star Ocean brings back fond memories of how RPGS used to made.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Real Time Battles Space Travel

Weakness: Sometimes dialog drags on.

Star Ocean Till The End of Time is really a great game. When I first purchased it I was hoping for normal turn based combat, but when I stuck it in, I was quite pleased with the Real Time Battle System. The graphics in the game are truly stunning and the colors are brilliant. Voice dialog is pretty nice. The story in the game makes you get really involved because as it gives you many choices when acting with your party. Map completion system sometimes gets pretty tedious, and I often find myself skipping this part of the game. Battle trophies are another way that that this game tries to keep you involved, and it works fairly well. All in all, Square Enix brings all it has too offer into this game and it definitely worked. If you find a good deal for this game, grab it while you have the chance.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Incredible battle system

Weakness: It makes you feel like playing it again

Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time is a very involved RPG that has the best active battle system ever made. This game also is consisted of two DVDs which instills climatic and overtaking cut scenes. This game is much more than a game. It will make you feel for the characters just like your first trip into the worl of final fantasy. My hat is tipped to Square Enix for this greatly enthusiastic and jaw dropping experience.
I highly suggest this game if you like RPGs and have slowly become tired of a turn based system. So if you know that you have the money to purchase this game, do it. You won't regret it.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: great battle system

Weakness: cliched story

this game has the gameplay just to tell you up front. The battle system makes final fantasy battle system seem like pure crap compared to this. The story however just doesn't compare to the epic's everyone is used to from FF. But it is a friendly trade-off, it is easy to play, easy to get into, and fun to play. I recommend, it.

Play this one Till the End of Time

Strengths: erm, it doesn't really do anything all that great, but doesn't do anything horribly wrong either

Weakness: the story is not as strong as it needs to be

Really, the story is the reason most people play RPGs. The sad thing here, is that the story is severely lacking. It starts out interesting enough, but quickly devolves into cliched nonsense. The gameplay also suffers from some strange design choices. First of all, your inventory is limited, so expect lots of backtracking to buy more items to use. Also, the whole game just doesn't feel fresh and unique. Almost every aspect of the game has been done somewhere else, often times better. Having said all that though, Star Ocean 3 isn't a BAD game, it just isn't GOOD. Maybe I just expect too much from the company that brought us the Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior series.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Fast paced battle system, awesome setting.

Weakness: Graphics seem dated, bad voice acting, story is not very interesting.

Even though the story is not that good or interesting, this game is a must have for any rpg fan. The battle system is fast paced and fun. The leveling up system is quite good. There is an inventing system which is lot of fun. The dungeons are a decent size, and usually have a puzzle of some sort in it.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Fun fighting engine, customizable level up system, great story spanning 2 discs, collectable battle trophies, play through at least twice to experience everything

Weakness: Lengthy cutscenes can sometimes kill the flow of the game

Star Ocean is my absolute favorite RPG, with only one game on the PS1 and this one for the PS2 here in the US, in my opinion of all the RPGs I;ve played it has become my favorite. I would recommend it to many newcomers to the RPG genre, especially those who claim the genre to be too boring. The real time fighting makes SO really shine in comparison to other RPGs and will appeal to those against menu based combat. I think it would be a nice introduction to the RPG genre. Long time RPG fans will enjoy most of SO, but can easily pick at the storyline for weak points. I say Star Ocean is worth it for anyone to check out.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Looks nice, good battle system.

Weakness: Very long cut scenes, lots of dungeon crawling.

I enjoyed Till the End of time very much. After playing the first one through this was more of a good thing. If you're looking for a battle system out of the usuall turn based one, you'll definitely find it here. A quite enjoyable system too. Overall a great game, if you love RPGs this will probably be the game for you. Plus you can pick it up for cheap now (now a greatest hits title).

One of the best

Strengths: Battle engine, lots of gameplay

Weakness: story drags on

I loved this game all the way through. With a unique battle system unlike other typical RPG's, this game just stands out from the rest. Unfortunately, the cutscenes seemed to take forever, but it wasn't anything I couldn't deal with. If you enjoy RPG's but think the turned based fighting system is somewhat flawed, here's the game for you!

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Great real-time battle system, long play time, good replay value

Weakness: Dated graphics, awful voice acting

Star Ocean: TTEOT is a great RPG for the Playstation 2, as it uses a real-time battle system that is a fresh, unique departure from turn-based RPGs. It is not difficult to learn the battle system, you do not need to "level up" very much, and random encounters are non-existent. While the main story is implemented well, there are not too many side-quests or mini-games, but there is item creation and refinement, which are very helpful to completing the game, and the battle trophy collection is vast and has many rewards. This game has a very intriguing setting, but the presentation could use more work; it doesn't have the emotional impact that most Final Fantasy games do.
This game is a must-buy for the RPG lover especially now that it's a Greatest Hit, and it's uniqueness gives other RPG developers something to think about.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Easy to understand combat system, customization

Weakness: Bad voice acting

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time has been in the works for a long time and was finally released in the US last fall (2004). One of the things about Star Ocean TTEOT is that it can be played how you like. If you want to play though the game and only want to do what is needed to be done you can do that also if you would like to explore and try to find everything the game has to offer you can also do that as you go though the game. The battle system is also pretty easy to understand making getting into the way fighting works pretty easy. You also will have a ton of extra stuff to aim for such as uncovering hidden dungeons, 10 different endings, versus mode, and special costumes which will give the game alot of replay for anyone that wants to go for all the extras that the game has to offer. I would suggest Star Ocean: Till the End of Time to anyone that is a fan of RPGs.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: + Fast paced battle system

Weakness: - The graphics are a bit simple - long cutscenes with few save points.

Star Ocean: Till the end of time is a good rpg but oddly does not have the visual flair that Square is known for.

The real time battles (when you fight enemies you're able to run around the battlefield and have to approach enemies to attack) is perfect. The added ability to have a strong and weak attack is much needed in this genre. Also one improvement over SquareEnix's other famous real time rpg, Kingdom Hearts, is that the item menu is no longer in real time either. This means when you want to use an item to heal, you have to pull up a menu and the action freezes while you decide what to use. This slight changed made all the difference for me.

The graphics on the other hand is mediocre, definitely not one of Square's best work. The models are plain and have very little detail. They look like lifeless dolls and they don't show any emotion. The characters seem to be heavily anime inspired so I guess if you're a fan of anime like .Hack you'll like the look and feel of these characters.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Unique Battle System Graphics

Weakness: Dialogue can get a little goofy

Wow! The graphics in this game are amazing. There were several reasons that I bought this game. I've always been a fan of Square, especially the Final Fantasy games. Second, this game supports progressive scan video. I bought this game along with a PS2 component video cable and a HD-video switch for my HDTV.
Gotta say, it was definitely worth it. The CGI movies and gameplay blow you away with beautiful crisp graphics.
The game would be worth it just for that. However, it also offers an unique battle system, unlike Final Fantasy. It is real time( If you have played Kingdom Hearts, it is somewhat comparable).
Overall, its definitely recommended, especially after its recent price drop!

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: A long, satisfying RPG with an action-oriented battle system.

Weakness: Story sequences drag on.

Tri-Ace's games always focus on gameplay, graphics, and sound, and they always excel in these. The thing is, this comes at the expense of the story, and Star Ocean 3 fits the bill here perfectly. It looks great, it sounds great, and it plays great, but the long-arching story can go on wild tangents, spend a dozen hours on useless things, and ends up in a place that may make you scratch your head. Still, if playing's what you've come to do, here's where you'll get it.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Awesome combat system that combines with great 3D graphics and effects. No random battles, you can see your enemies on-sceen before fighting them!

Weakness: Average story with poor voice acting.

This is the best RPG fighting system I have ever used. Wow. Lots of great action and the game AI makes it very easy to get-into. Good controls and great effects that really add to the action. The story is average but not bad. Not as many puzzles as I would like in a RPG. Dungeon exploration is interesting and well detailed, lots of good variety. This game is so long, that I recommend getting a guide to help you mark your place in between gaming sessions, if longer than a few days. I really like the ability to create new items.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Great Combat System. Large and Expansive world with a good story.

Weakness: Gets dull in some parts.

Star Ocean is an RPG that takes place in the far reaches of space. There are a ton of interesting characters to meet and places to visit. Unfortunately, the game becomes like any RPG, be it fantasy or space. And in some ways it has that D&D or Final Fantasy in space feel. Long Dungeon crawls and the like. But it does have an interesting story and is a very good RPG.

One thing that separates Star Ocean from other Console RPG's is that combat is in real time. It's not turn based, order based, or like the FF combat system. It's a real time system more like the games you'll see in a PC or more like a fighting game for the console. You can also learn a whole host of combat skills and it really makes combat interesting.

Overall, Star Ocean is a very good RPG in a somewhat different setting than usual.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Strengths: Awesome gameplay, Very long

Weakness: A bit tedious at times

Star Ocean is a fantastic RPG game from Square Enix. The graphics are beautiful throughout the game and environments all look unique which is a plus considering how many places you'll travel to throughout the game. The sound is highlighted by some great music which is really, really well done. The gameplay is standard RPG fare, but the battle system plays like a fighting game. This brings a lot more strategy to the battles and makes things a lot more fun overall. It also keeps things from getting old during this huge 40-80 hour quest. RPG fans will eat this game up.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

I can still remember when Star Ocean 2 came out for Playstation several years ago. After one of my friends purchased it we all went over to his house to watch him play it for a while. After watching him play it for 30 minutes or so, me and another friend promptly went out and each purchased a copy to be inducted into our gaming library. That game had a lot of good ideas, and was a blast to play....

Crafting a top-tier role-playing game takes one part epic tale, one part enthralling combat, and a lot of balancing to get the right mix of both elements. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time does all these things in better-than-average fashion, resulting in an RPG that will please most gamers who put it through its paces.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (ps2)

Long before Square and Enix had ever merged companies and before the PlayStation 2 console had even come out, tri-Ace's science fiction sequel Star Ocean: Till the End of Time had already earned itself a following. Originally announced in September of '99, it quickly shot up the charts as one of the system's most anticipated pieces of software, and was heralded by Enix as the company's greatest...
