Really fun and now really cheap

Strengths: Much improved on the Stuntman titles from the PS2 Good use of humor Good challenge with excellent controls

Weakness: Repetition Unlocking the later movies takes too long Terrible mutliplayer

If you ever played the original Stuntman series on the PS2 than you know the definition of the word frustration. The game was enjoyable, but a little too challenging and confusing. Plus you had to perform the stunts over and over until you landed them perfectly. While I can appreciate the quest for perfection in my video game playing; this took it a step too far. Stuntman Ignition improves on the old formula with better graphics, an easy mode, better controls and most importantly better direction. You have a much clearer idea of what to do in a given scene in this game than any of its predecessors. That said the game is not without its own faults. First, it takes way to long to unlock all the movies and in fact I still don't have the last movie unlocked. Second, the multiplayer graphics are horrendous and while gameplay is pretty fun, you will be hard pressed to find anyone online to play with or lag-free games. These two dings are minor offenses and given that the game sold terrible it can be had for mega-cheap now, probably $10 used. In fact, it sold so poorly that we most likely will not get another Stuntman game, which is a shame, because these titles are very similar in my opinion to the Tony Hawk style games and have a very unique gameplay element. If you are a fan of the old Stuntman games, racing games or even Tony Hawk style games, then I highly recommend this title.

An Apology for the Last Game

Strengths: difficulty has been toned down, ease of play, graphics

Weakness: difficulty can be inconsistent at times

If you played the first Stuntman years ago, you probably broke a few controllers due to its insanely difficulties and frustrations. Fear not, Stuntman Ignition have toned down on the frustration and difficulty and the game is blast to play. Each action movie scene requires you complete a certain numbers of objectives before going on to the next scene. You will have to precisely time your stunts while buildings are collapsing, with cops or bad guys chasing, and explosions erupting. A great feature allows you to make your own stunt tracks; which can be wildly addictive to mess with. Overall, a fun game that you will have a blast to play with.

Stylish and difficult

Strengths: Ludicrous stunts, things blow up real good, highly entertaining

Weakness: Got tired of trying and re-trying (and re-trying again) to execute some of the stunts

The challenge in this game is not completing a single stunt, but rather a series of stunts and maneuvers over a set course. Miss too many of the individual stunts and you have to start the course over again---which is something you will become very familiar with. The send-ups of recognizeable Hollywood film franchises and personalities adds to the amusement factor. Lately this title has been budget priced at a lot of sellers. Well worth twenty bucks if you like challenging driving games with a twist.

Stuntman: Ignition (Xbox 360)

Strengths: Good action gameplay, enjoyable stuntman feel

Weakness: No plot, limited replay value, no multiplayer

Stuntman: Ignition is a racing game of sorts, playing as a stuntman charged to do movie stunts. Each scene has specific requirements to pass to the next scene, with differing amounts of points for varying levels of success. Working through the game, there's not a lot of re-playability, save for trying to get the top scores and all the achievements. There's no real plot to speak of, as it's just connected movie stunt scene, and no multiplayer action to increase the gametime. It's a fun game with enjoyable action.

Fun game

Strengths: Fun to perfect, Good graphics, cool stunts

Weakness: Pretty short, some slowdown, can be tedious

Overall it's a pretty fun game even though there isn't much to the story and there really isn't any reason to replay the game unless you want to get a higher score. Sometimes getting the higher scores and perfecting the stunts is a lot of fun, but other times it can get tedious because of bad direction. There are also some points where too much is going on and the game slows down. Other than those flaws the graphics are great and it's a blast to play.

Stuntman Ignition

Strengths: Hollywood atmosphere, fun game

Weakness: Too much Trial and error

When I played this game first, I felt good to be like in a hollywood set. In addition, the game play is entertaining. And graphics and sounds seem to be ok. For me, the main problem was that it needs much time to enjoy this game. You have to experience trial and error continuously. Another minor disappointment was that it did not have a storyline so it became boring sometime later.
I think its concept of game was good, but not be good enough for mass production. It should have been developed more time before coming to market...

Stuntman Ignition

Strengths: Fun to play

Weakness: No storyline

I liked to play this game on PS3 and I also bought this game on Xbox360. I could see any noticeable differences between those twos. So basically this one and PS3 one have the same strength and weakness. This game is fun to play; full of action and feeling of yourself in Hollywood sets. But it requires you to put your time on this game to enjoy it, it is not easy to get this game going when you are not familiar with this game. Its main weakness is that it doesn't have a storyline. I think if developers were more creative with storyline, this game could have become a mega hit title...
Overall, it is action-oriented fun game and I like this game.

You are the wheelman in a summer blockbuster. . .

Strengths: Summer blockbuster atmostphere, quick reloads when you mess up, multiplayer/online support, solid graphics/audio

Weakness: Trail and error game play, frequent repetition, short overall length, limited extras

The Stuntman series has come a long way from its roots on the PS2. The audio/graphics presentation has improved, and the game play mechanics have been enhanced. Still, it features mostly the same trail and error game play that can frustrate as often as it entertains.

Stuntman Ignition only features a handful of films and several dozen missions to complete. However, the slim margin of error you're allowed per mission will ensure that you won't complete the game over a weekend. There are also a few online/multiplayer modes and side missions included, but these likely won't interest most players for long.

Fans of stunt-driving games will appreciate what Ignition has to offer. The series has expanded a bit from its humble roots, and most racing fans will find plenty of fun here for $20 or less. Players that have problems with trial and error game play should skip this, however.

Fun and entertaining, but a bit too much trial and...

Strengths: Fun action sequences; Really captures the feel of being a stuntman

Weakness: Some stunts require a lot of trial and error to get right

Stuntman: Ignition isn't for everyone. There's a good amount of repetition, and the reliance on trial and error in order to complete some stunts can be tedious and frustrating. However, I personally don't mind this, as the sense of accomplishment from completing stunts really makes you feel like you're in the role of a stuntman. If you've ever wanted to fill the role of a Hollywood stuntman, this game is for you. Recommended.

Fun game

Strengths: Fun to execute stunts

Weakness: It's also frustrating replaying the same stunts repeatedly to get them right

The game does a good job of capturing the campy feel of Hollywood blockbusters as you're playing through each mission. In order to advance further in the game you have to string stunts together and it is here where the game will drive many gamers nuts due to the degree of difficulty. In addition to the single player mode, there is multiplayer and a course constructor. Overall this is a fun little title that some people may want to rent first if they don't like games that have a lot of trial and error.

Awesome stunt driving action

Strengths: decent graphics, budget price, cheesy yet entertaining faux movie trailers, construction mode for building your own sets

Weakness: tons of frustrating repetition

Stuntman Ignition almost feels like a game that wants you to hate it. But if you stick with it and enjoy perfection through repetition, there's tons of fun to be had here.

The premise of the game, much like the original Stuntman, is that you are a rookie movie stuntman who performs vehicular stunts for big-budget action flicks. Each "movie" has a number of scenes to be performed and require you to deftly maneuver through tight gaps, make huge jumps, drift through turns, etc. If you mess up a stunt or miss a marker, you get an X. Get five X's and a reshoot will be needed. You score point based on how well and how quickly you perform the stunts and chaining them together create increasing score multipliers. When you finish a scene, you're scored based on how well you did and given a 1 through 5 star rating. It's pure action and plenty of fun.

Having said all that, it should become clear that quite a bit of repetition is involved in performing these stunts. Its not uncommon to retry the same scene 10-15 times just trying to get a decent rating. Those who appreciate a challenge and like to perfect their runs by memorizing the layout and repeating the scene will have a blast. However, if repetition is the bane of your gaming existence, you'll probably want to avoid this one. Stuntman Ignition is the pinnacle of love-it-or-hate-it gaming (maybe that's why it didn't sell all that well). I personally had a blast playing but can easily see why many may not. The MSRP has recently dropped to $19.99, so its definitely a low-risk buy but you may want to try a rental first.

Live your stunts

Strengths: Relives some of the exciting stunts

Weakness: Some stunts can get frustrating

I you are one of those guys who do not mind trying again & again till you succeed, then this game is for you. It does takes lot of trial & error to do some of the stunts but when you succeed, it can feel real rewarding.
There are different classical stunts that you will be carrying out through car or bike on movie sets. But getting them right first time is not an easy task. Still the game is not as unforgivable as the first installment which was really impossible for me.
Graphics look real good & frame rate never suffers despite some intense action. the game is now available at bargain price & certainly worth more than a look

Stuntman Ignition Xbox 360

Strengths: Great feeling of being a stuntman in a high budget hollywood action flick. Good graphics and fun to be had.

Weakness: Only for those who have enjoyed the Stuntman series so far. Can be frustrating with its memorizing actions and not very free form. Not meant for pure racing gamers.

Stuntman Ignition is the newest (and in my opinion the best) addition to the Stuntman video game series. It has updated and really great graphics for the Xbox360 and good sound effects too coming through 5.1 sound. I really enjoyed this game because I'm a fan of the Stuntman series and have always enjoyed them even though the last few Stuntman games were somewhat flawed. Ignition is by no means perfect, but it takes what the last couple of Stuntman games have done right and builds on them to make an even more refined and fun "sim" game. It's not really racing but then all you do is drive a car or motorbike throughout the game so I'm not sure what to classify this game as. It can be difficult and frustrating for many if you're not one to sit through multiple runs of the same track to get it right, it's that sort of gameplay. If you're an action games fan, and especially a Stuntman game series fan, definitely give this one a run through and you won't regret it.

A Greatly Improved Sequel

Strengths: The gameplay is very fun.

Weakness: Can become repetitive.

Stuntman: Ignition is the much improved upon sequel to the 2002 PS2 game. The difficulty level has been decreased since the original Stuntman, which will be a relief to most fans. The gameplay is very fun, but does involve a lot of trial and error. It can become repetitive attempting the same stunts over and over again. The decreased difficulty level will help this game appeal to some new people. If you liked the original, it is very likely that you will love this sequel. Stuntman: Ignition is certainly not perfect, but it is very fun and that alone makes it worth the purchase.

Stuntman: Ignition

Since the early days of Hollywood, stunt performers have been making stars look good by taking on dangerous but jaw-dropping stunts that make our favorite movies so exciting. If you’ve ever dreamed of standing in for your favorite actor and jumping a motorcycle off the roof of a building while he or she sits back in a cozy trailer sipping champagne (well, that’s what I think happens during a...
