Karaoke Revolution

Strengths: inexpensive karaoke machine

Is similiar to Microsoft Music Mixer and Dance Dance Revolution without the dancing. It can be a fun party game using multiplayer. You can download new songs thru xbox live. If you like Karaoke you should enjoy Karaoke Revolution.

It's like a karaoke bar where only your friends are...

Strengths: A lot of fun, easy to navigate the interface

Weakness: A lack of built-in songs makes it feel repetitive

I'm not a karaoke expert by any means. I've never sung in a bar, although I've been a witness to the carnage on occasion. And I know I'm not about to put myself through the experience.

Now in the safety of my own home, I can (sort of) experience what it might be like to get on stage and let 'er rip.

I won't go into every detail of the game. If you're interested in this title, it's because "karaoke" is in the name. There are about 20 songs available to sing with, and this is the weakest area of the game, because they get old pretty quickly. I read something about downloadable content, but I don't have Xbox Live and I don't want to pay for extra content. But at least there's hope for some of you.

Besides the obvious joy of the karaoke experience, the game also gives your performance a score. It seems to "listen" somehow for your pitch and phrasing, and based on your accuracy, you're supposed to get the score you deserve. This feature was kind of gimmicky, in my opinion. It wasn't really accurate, at least not to me. You may enjoy that option, but all I was looking for in this game was an Xbox-based karaoke player.

One more thing...if you don't have a headset for your Xbox, then you'll need to buy a microphone. I believe they sell a version of this game that includes the microphone, but mine did not. I picked up a used Xbox Live headset, and it worked just fine. In fact, I felt a little like Britney or Madonna up there with the headset microphone! Truthfully, I would prefer having a hand-held microphone, because it feels unnatural without it to me.

So, bottom line...was it fun? Is it worth buying? In short, yes. It's basically simple, mindless entertainment, which is exactly what we're all looking for...right?

This game had my family cracking up for a couple of hours, and that was well worth the price. So if you're at all interested in this game, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

At least it's not Ashley Simpson

Strengths: It's Karaoke on the Xbox?...

Weakness: Detection of pitch and wacky ranges, Song titles are not so great, Atrocious unlockables

After reading other reviews that hyped this game I was very disappointed. Some of those songs get so rangey even on normal level that you need to be an American Idol finalist to complete them. The song selections are heavily skewed towards females also. Downloadable content is awful and for $5 for five songs not much bang for your buck. Also the "unlockables" are just horrid outfits and not something useful like more (better) songs. Graphically the character models look like children with giant deformed heads. Get this title only for bargain basement price.

Well, so so

Strengths: Karaoke on XBOX

Weakness: So great songs. Nothing new.

This XBOX version of KONAMI's Karaoke Revolution is not so good, but not so bad as well. KONAMI is well known for many other music games, but this is not on the top among their games. It would have been better with many other good songs added.

Karaoke Revolution for the Xbox

Strengths: + Not many other games like it (excluding the horrible Get on Da Mic) + Very fun with groups of friends

Weakness: - Mic voice recognition is spotty - Not very fun by yourself

Karaoke Revolution pretty much started it's own genre, just as Dance Dance Revolution had years before it. You sing into a microphone and get scored based on your performance. If you're a shy person and don't like to act goofy amongst friends, don't pick this up. However, if you can allow yourself to have goofy fun, do pick this up (it's cheap nowadays anyways). It's mindless fun, and extremely addictive when you have several other people to play with you, just like Dance Dance Revolution was.

There are few problems with this game, including some voice recognition problems, and the fact that this game is meant for multiplayer (like Mario Party is), so if you're a single player gamer, pass on this one. Otherwise, definitely pick it up.

My daughter loves it. You can challenge other people. The songs are fantastic. My daughter loves to sing and can't stop using this one and I would highly recommend this Karaoke Xbox.

Best thing since DDR

Strengths: Just great fun. Almost everyone will love this game, you could be playing for hours the first time you pick up the mic.

Weakness: Some of the artist covers are questionable The song packs on LIVE are mixed so you can't get all the songs you want in one pack.

I first played Karaoke Revolution about a year and a half ago with my upstairs neighbors(ps2 version). I really had a blast, it was probably the most fun new thing since I discovered Dance Dance Revolution.

Six months later, I rented the game for xbox and bought a mad catz mic to play with. This is when I introduced the game to my friends in my home town.

They really loved it, in fact one of my friends bought all 3 for ps2 in short order.

The Xbox version is supposed to be a mixture of Vol. 1&2 from PS2 plus 10 motown classics, at least that is what I had read elsewhere.

I believe the motown songs are the original artists, versus some of the odd covers done up for the rest of the songs. I'm not entirely certain about this, but they certainly sound right to me.

Karaoke Revolution

Strengths: Great selection of songs(especially motown exclusives), ability to download songs via xbox live(mix of songs from ps2 v1/v2).

Weakness: No duets like Karaoke Revolution V3 on ps2, xbox live does not have all of V2 and V3 songs, no graphical enhancements for xbox over ps2,

Finally the big ps2 hit comes to the xbox and in pretty good shape. All the songs from v1 of the ps2 version plus 10(I only see 9) exclusive songs taken form the motown classics collection sung by the actual artists. I always end up bringing my xbox to parties now as people like the song selection on the xbox one after you've spent the cash to buy the xbox live songs. With the live songs you have a interesting mix of a sampling of v2 and v3 songs along with all of v1's songs, only bad thing is I wish they had allowed you to buy all of the songs from V2/V3. If you have an xbox and love karaoke, this is a must buy.

Karaoke Revolution

Strengths: Great songs, lots of fun!

Weakness: Little variety in music.

This game is great! It is a great Karaoke game on consoles and has a great song list including the Gin Blossoms, Avril Lavigne, and many others. Don't forget the mics.

Karaoke Revolution

Strengths: Fun party game, large song selection, downloadable content

Weakness: Single player mode isn't that fun

Karaoke Revolution is an excellent party game for anyone who is not afraid to make a total fool of themselves. The game features a very large song selection of classics and new songs that everyone should know. The game also adjust to your singing voice when it is judging your singing, so you don't have to be a good singer to be good at this game. It's a lot of fun to pull this game out at a party, but I'm not sure that it is that much fun to sit around and play by yourself.

Karaoke Revolution

Strange things happen when you enter the world of video games. "One Week" has been one of my favorite songs since its 1998 release. "Complicated" has been one of those "get out of my head, now!" songs since its 2002 release. On a compilation CD they'd mean nothing together. In Karaoke Revolution their purpose together is clear. Great music isn't necessarily necessary when you become the vocalist....

Karaoke Revolution

Since the karaoke phenomenon took off in the U.S. in the early 1990s, there have been several decent attempts at bringing the late-night bar-scene event home. Over in Japan, where it's pronounced kah-ah-oh-kay, the portable karaoke machine has practically become standard picnic equipment, second to the portable grill. While these machines did their job decently, the technology was the equivalent...

Karaoke Revolution

Konami's excellent Karaoke Revolution series hits the Xbox in an impressive fashion. Its impressive technology makes it the ultimate party game and the most universally appealing series in the company's Bemani line of music / rhythm games. Though the Xbox version of the game doesn't have all the newer features of the latest PlayStation 2 version, it boasts the largest song list of any game in the...
