Zelda's Only Side Scroller Comes To The GBA!

Strengths: Controls, Dungeons, Atmosphere

Weakness: Nothing New, Extra Added

Classic NES Series: Zelda II is a port of Zelda II which originally came out on the NES back in 1988. Being different then the other Zelda games in being a side scroller has made Zelda II somewhat of a black sheep within the Zelda games but it is worth checking out even if you hear mixed feelings about it as it does do a good job of presenting Zelda with the same structure and feel as the top down games in a side scrolling kind of manner. They didn't add anything to the game which is kind of a bummer but seems to be the case with all of the NES Classic games on the GBA. The only noticeable difference being that the backround are scaled down a bit but it's very minor and only something that you would notice if you were looking for it and comparing the two version of Zelda II (NES & GBA versions that is).

I would highly recommend Classic NES Series: Zelda II to anyone looking for a side scrolling action adventure game or anyone that likes Zelda.

A Challenge

Strengths: Great side-scrolling action.

Weakness: Extremely difficult.

Zelda II is one of the most debated sequels of all time because of the numerous changes made from the first game. 20 years later, Zelda II stands up as a challenging but rewarding gameplay that highly influenced the 3D games of the series. Recommended for those seeking an old-school challege.
