GREATEST MMORPG TO BE FOOLISHLY DESTROYED WEEKLY (BY...

Strengths: This game is totally addictive and "should have been" the last game you'd ever buy:-)

Weakness: Customer Service is a "totally unaccountable, non-existant, rubber stamp joke" and sadly the game designers change the rules/guidelines without reason (or accountability to you) every tuesday??? :-(

I personally had 10 totally Different Characters at once in this game; 5 on the Alliance side(Good Guys) and 5 on the Horde side(Bad Guys)... some all the way up to 45th level!

All of them were months of time devoted to each one, because I played them the hardest way known in this game; totally solo!

This was a passion for me that was crushed little by little with every Tuesday's updates!

Sadly the game changed so much after months of small, arbitrary, haphazard, weekly updates, that some of my favorite high level characters became completely useless!

Even though I had several solid solutions and fixes for the mess that Blizzard made out of this wonderful game, not one single (supposed) customer service rep even read my lengthy requests to communicate with the design teams of these updates!

Why would anyone spend so much time on a game that can and does change randomly on a weekly basis, with no say in it, just shut up and pay??

No matter how much I loved the endless gameplay and creativeness, I can't see paying $15.00 a month additional on-line game fees to the people who are unaccountably fighting our success and passionate efforts every step of the way!

Sorry folks... we all learned as children to walk away from the kids who changed the rules in the middle of the game..... Because Arbitrary Rule Makers Just Aren't Worth Playing With:-(

(I hate saying this but.....)

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!!

This Game's Support Will "Endlessly Disappoint and Frustrate Any Mature & Intelegant Player"

POCKET YOUR MONEY AND CONSIDER YOURSELF ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES!

Hey wadeduck58,
How come you didn't tell us anything about the game, as well as the obviously poor service?
Like, the plots, kinds of characters, design, playing styles, successes and winning the game, quests, difficulty of play, or even what kind of game it is.
Reviews need to tell the potential buyers exactly what kind of game they'd be buying!
Can you clarify on these points please?
PS. (Great review on the customer service though :-)

Sorry Friend that I didn't get into game specifics....

My point of this game warning is: "There Are No Game Specifics that are without the possibility of being altered with the next Tuesday's patch"....

I would not have posted this warning without reason, and you my friend are looking for the same as I am...

A Game That Is Set Up In One Format And Enhanced By The Creators, But Not Drastically Changed Over Time!

Any WoW player who has an honest understanding of the game will tell you that: "the retail box game purchase of just 6 short months ago, is but a distant memory to what you play today, and who knows what it will be after the next Tuesday's changes!"

I wish I could answer your question of what kind of game it is, but today is Tuesday, and the servers are down for regular Tuesday's maintenance!

Once the servers come back on line, the update downloads begin..... It's a crap shoot to guess what the game will be like tonight... No One Knows... It's Unknown what they will do next to this once Great MMORPG:-(

EXAMPLE (One Tuesday's Game Changing):

On One Monday I Had A Priest Player Named Brothermoth On The Hydraxis Server, Who Gathered Herbs To Make Potions! Potions Supplemented This Characters Natural Weaknesses by drinking Special, multiple Combinations of them, and also supplemented the Characters Income By selling These high level Potions!

Also on Monday (With the help of multiple potion combinations) my priest could walk in very, very difficult areas (by himself) and survive that area that had the most amount of treasure and experience needed in order to advance this character!

On Tuesday night My priest could not survive anything anymore and my sales of potions went to zero....

The character that was built on months of Alchemy training was broke and useless after one Tuesday's updates....

(that Tuesday's update limited all potion use by all game players to only one potion used at a time, of the now two categorized types, Making Alchemy Use And Skills Worthless)!

So you see friend... If one Tuesday's updates can destroy your (months of work) game character (and this was only one example), what can constant changes every single Tuesday do to a game???

It no longer can be considered a game... It's a crap shoot to see what it becomes next!!!!!

Wish I could tell you more, what kind of game it is, but it's Tuesday and only the update and patch designers of Blizzard know what's next... Trust me; They don't owe you a thing and don't even want to communicate with the players!!!

If there is only one thing that is constant about the World Of Warcraft Game now, it's that the game has grown to EIGHT MILLION USERS PAYING FIFTEEN DOLLARS A MONTH, EVERY MONTH!

That is easy math to calculate and figure out how huge and isolated from the players they have become!!!

No single or even ten thousand players mean anything to them anymore, and the game is now "what ever they want to make it (or change it) at their whim!"

Sorry Friend, Your point is a very good one and is exactly my point too....

No One Can Tell You What Kind Of Game World Of Warcraft Is Anymore!

And If They Did It's A Lie; Because Come Each Tuesday, All Bets Are Off and their nose will start growing:-(

For one thing, Blizz does not make drastic changes every Tueday. What you are talking about is when Blizz is performing patches which does not happen that often and they post what the patch is going to be any why before the patch is performed. Every Tuesday is just a weekly maintenence that Blizz performs to fix bugs and in game issues, NOT to make drastic changes. Yes Blizz did nerf the use of potions and such. In many ways it makes sense because if we all buffed up and became invincible, how much of a challenge would this game be? They do have elixers now that last up to 2 hours and through death. It's just you cannot take 10 potions and have 10 buffs....big deal.. The expansion is great and well worth it as well as I am looking forward to the next expansion. This game is alot of fun being that it's played in real time and with those from all over the world. It has many challenges whether solo or in raid groups. I for one, as well as, many of my friends will agree that the $15.00 a month is well worth the game play. This game may not be for you, apparently, but it is for millions of others.

Thanks for the unbiased opinion "chose42" :-) !
But I don't understand on how you say the game does not change drastically each Tuesday, in one breath, and then admit in the next breath that only one single Tuesday's Update (out of hundreds of totally different Tuesday Updates) did ""nerf the use of potions"" across the whole game world????
Well I couldn't have said it any better folks...
"This kind of double talk is what you can expect from a Blizzard Employee, and any honest, "non-paid player" will tell you the same"..... "Oops, did I say Blizzard Employee???" "Sorry chose42, I meant unbiased gamer" :-)
Does anyone not see the connection and double talk???
Watch for the back-pedaling reply that will confirm the paycheck behind the opinion (and try not to chuckle out loud friends:-)!!!

the good, the bad and the ugly

Strengths: The Good: An addictive game that you can get lost in for days at a time and not care of the outside world. Lots of fun to be had and always something new to discover.

Weakness: The Bad: Customer Service is non-existent for all paying customers. Tech problems will be solved within 30 days & billing issues within a day. So you get my drift on Blizzard's attitude with customers

The Ugly: For those that buy this game and love it, you'll never be able to leave it (your social life will disappear... watchout, create a balance between it - its too addictive).

You'll love the game but will hate blizzard at the same time because this is the new opium to the masses.

The outland is here.....

Strengths: Exciting new weapons, awesome new sets, mind-blowing instances and raids, plus a whole new world!

Everyone has it so I don't know why I'm writing a review.... All I can say is this is one of the greatest expansions of all time. Buy it.

A Burning Desire for WoW

Strengths: A significant amount of new content. Better quests, and great new dungeon and raid instances.

Weakness: A lot more new content means a lot less free time!

The Burning Crusade expansion alone won't do a lot to convert those who don't already enjoy WoW, but if you play WoW, this expansion is a must. Leveling from 60-70 in Outlands is a much more focused experience than the 1-60 grind. The zones are well developed, and the quests are fun and interesting. There's a lot more to do here, including entirely two new races. A great addition to a fun game.

A great expansion to a great game!

Strengths: MORE content to add to the already huge amount of original content

Weakness: -Lvl 20-60 is pretty much the same game.

I LOVE World of Warcraft. It\'s a fantastic game with SO much to do and see. This expansion pack just adds more and more features to an already HUGE game world. The only draw backs are that the level 20-60 grind are pretty much the same as the original game...you\'ll do the same content. Overall, a must buy!

WOW

Strengths: New Zones, New Craftable Items, New Mobs to slaughter, New Battle System ( Arena ), New Items, New Mount, Many short 5 man instance to save your time, Heroic mode to obtain new items from same instance with little more difficulties, etc....

Weakness: So many quests that seem alike. Gets boring quickly.

This expansion changed a lot about WoW that some loved and some hated. I know many people who quit (and these are experienced players) because they didn't like the idea of a smaller raid-group and the fact that they missed "the good old days". I would give this a 4 but I play it too much to not give it a 5. Definitely addictive and generally very fun if you get involved with friends or a good guild. If you don't have a high-level character yet then I don'd advise you purchasing this untill you get level 58+. See if you like the begining before you drop the extra cash on this.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade

Make no mistake about it: Blizzard doesn’t mess around when it comes to expansion packs. The notoriously meticulous developer truly gives it their all when it comes to added content for their games, and each new update they release for their catalog of games is nearly as anticipated as the original games themselves. Therefore, when it came to their biggest success ever, an MMORPG by the name of...
