Lots of fun

Strengths: -putting is lots of fun -two buttons for extra power and spin makes it easy to max out the power and spin -lots of ways to customize your player -pretty easy to get a hang of -graphics are pretty

Weakness: -graphics could be better -commentators get annoying -too easy (it's really not hard to atleast birdie every hole and end up with scores of -20 to -25) -new version coming out in fall 07

I love this game and have played it quite often. It's a game and pretty easy to catch on to. The minigames are pretty fun as well as the training modes to boost your stats. I have this game for Wii as well, and would definitely recommend that you get it for Wii instead if you have both systems. It is a little tougher but swinging is more fun than moving your thumbs. The scores of opponents in the championships flip back and forth to kind of reflect how you are doing (so they do not go like they would in real life---there will be jumps of 5 to 6 strokes between holes in either direction)

I would give this an 8 out of 10 for its continued fun of playing.

Tiger Woods )7

Strengths: lots of customization, just plain fun

Weakness: graphics showing their age

Another find in the clearance bin, this is a pretty good sports title. I’m not really into golf, but this title makes it fun. Certainly better than Wii Play golf. Lots of choices of players and capabilities, 12 different courses and good controls (but not overly easy) make it a good choice for golf fans. Pick it up at a discount now if you don’t feel like paying full price for the 2008 version.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 (PS3)

Strengths: Affordability and simplicity.

Weakness: It's not the latest version of the product.

I am 37 and am not into all the complicated war games that kids play now a days. I enjoy simple games to learn where you don't have to spend a month learning how to use a hundred different button combinations. This game is perfect for people like me. I really like this game and have a hard time putting it down. If you buy this 2007 version you can get the game for about $20 if you look around. The 2008 version is more expensive and besides, hitting a golf ball is hitting a golf ball. Does it really make a difference what version you have? I most certainly recommend this game.

Great first golfing outing for the PS3

Strengths: Game feels huge, lots to do, tries some different things in terms of aiming

Weakness: Seems like graphics should be better, getting used to new aiming can take a bit of practice

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 is a fun golf game for the PS3. I hadn't played a Tiger Woods game in years and was surprised at how big the game has become in terms of features and things to do. The first thing you have to do is create your player which can be a full play session in and of itself with all of the options provided!

Tiger Woods 07 changes the aiming and shot control quite a bit, but in a way it feels much more like you're golfing and less like you're in a timing competition to press buttons at exactly the right time. You can't quite aim exactly where you want the ball to go, you have to rotate around and basically aim to the general direction you want to hit it. This adds a bit of unpredictability to the game while still being fun. It can take a while to learn how to master, though. You'll find yourself shooting all over the place for a while.

There are tons of modes and options to explore, which will keep you busy. If you like videogame golf this is an excellent game, although it probably wouldn't be enough for a non-fan to give it a try. I've actually read that Tiger Woods 2008 is a bit of a step backwards so it might be worth picking up 2007 if you haven't already!

4 stars-- solid game, minor flaws, worth checking out.
