Strengths: realistic gameplay

Weakness: to dark enemys dont die with single shots

when i first played the game it was good but there are to many weak moments so i stop playing it dont buy. call of duty or resitance are the ones to buy

Average game with dated grahics

Strengths: Good controls, online multiplayer is fun

Weakness: Graphics are dated, long load times

F.E.A.R. is a fun game with its excellent reponsive controls. The single player mode has an interesting story to go along with it. The online multiplayer is quite fun complete with leaderboards. There is a lot of action in this game, and it doesn't grow dull.

The problem lies with how the game looks on the PS3. For a next gen game it is very lacking in the graphics department. And it really doesn't do anything that other FPS haven't done before, on top of that the load times are quite long.

I would say this is a very average game, nothing groundbreaking but fun.

Better late than never....

Strengths: above average first person shooter, spooky horror elements to the story, decent length, plenty of action

Weakness: not quite up to snuff compared to current crop of shooters

F.E.A.R. (or First Encounter Assault Recon) for the PS3 is a little late to the party, having been available for the PC and the 360 for quite some time already. However, its better late than never.

The gameplay is more or less your standard run of the mill first person shooter but with some survival horror-type elements thrown it to spice it up a little. The results work well and you'll often find yourself creeped out, if not outright jumping at some of the scares. Technically, the game pales in comparison to some more recent PS3 releases like Resistance and now Call of Duty 4. But for a game that was released on the PC a number of years ago, this comes as no surprise.

If you have never played F.E.A.R. on any other platform, then its certainly worth taking a look at the PS3 version. It can be found for $30 or less, so pick it up if you're a fan of shooters. If you only have a passing interest in the FPS genre, stick to a rental.

Strengths: above average shooter that combines horror and quick style action.

Weakness: loading time and funky controls at times

F.E.A.R. a decent shooter on the PS3, but is mediocre at best when compared to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. Don't get me wrong there's a wide array of great action and spooky moments single-player story should take gamers a good eight to ten hours to get through, which is in check with other shooters.

FEAR not a really great game

Strengths: Nice person first shooter, although there are better ones out there.

Weakness: Graphics are not that great...best you can get is 720p which is not all that for PS3 with HD TV's. Kinda gets dull quickly.

This game I feel was pushed out the door too quickly. The gameplay is not all that, better to get Call to Duty 3 or Resistance for first person shooters that have better graphics.
