Eidos Thief Deadly Shadows For WindowsStrengths: Creepy environments and graphics. Nice shadow detail. The epitome of positional audio. Weakness: Frequent load times due to short level fragments. Repetitive looting. Thief: Deadly Shadows is the third installment in the highly successful thief franchise. It follows the adventures of master-thief Garret and takes you along for an interesting ride. This title is definitely the most immersive in comparison to its two prequels, but it still makes the player sit through frequent load screens. However, I think that this is a small price to pay to have the privilege of playing through a stellar game. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Eidos Thief Deadly Shadows For WindowsStrengths: Stealth gameplay is kinda fun Weakness: Graphics engine, typically tedious gameplay This game had a lot of potential, but it was tragically squandered. The graphics in the game are pretty bad thanks to the terrible engine that the game runs on. It just feels like it'll fall apart any minute. The sound is okay -- it doesn't add or take away anything from the experience. The gameplay is kind of fun when you're stalking people to kill, but overall, the game is just way too tedious with the looting of treasures. The game had a lot of potential, but between the weak gameplay and graphics and the horrible load times, the game just isn't worth buying. 50% of readers found this review helpful. I liked most of the new graphics and upgrades in...Strengths: I did like the weapons, except for the missing rope arrow, which added more challenge than a pair of wall climbing gloves. The Lighting, graphics , and sound were great Weakness: Too short of game. The game was at the least an improvement over the original games, which to this date I think is one of the best PC games of all time. Most friends I told this to did not agree, saying "it was too difficult to master the controls'. Who cares, as long as you get a great game that "Immerses'' you in a totally ancient environment that will leave you craving for more adventures. Sure theres no "Uzi's, machine guns, or rocket launcers, or sex even", but This games got lot of 'thrill, chills up your spine, and mystery rolled up into one exciting , colorful(graphics and characters), and sounds/effects that knock most games out of the arena. I wont give any story line away, but just givin the chance at pretending youre "Robbing some poor blokes mansion, and knocking the guards out , and checking out how rich people are enjoying life on the other side(of the thick 2 foot castle walls, of course), is an experience worth the price of admission. At least mine it was. Oh....wait,,,I think I got mine for free. ;D Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Thief 3Strengths: FX get better with each edition of the franchise! Ghost asylum mission gauranteed to creep you out. Weakness: I think I like the rope arrows from previous missions compared to the climbing gloves in T3, but you get use to them and come to rely on them as the game progresses In my opinion, the Thief line is only second to Half-life in game play. With several levels of difficulty and the ability to run around on the roof tops to evade your enemies and find loot, T3 throws down the gauntlet in terms of it's evolution with it's predecessors. With a game this good, it will be interesting to see if Eidos can top this installment of the storyline... Only time will tell. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Thief is back once againStrengths: Good graphics. Some moves added/improved. Nice selection of weapons and accessories. Fair gameplay. Weakness: Weird bugs that cause the game to crash and unplayable sometimes. Some slowness may occur. Thief is once again back to being what he is good at, being a thief. The game's main concept is being as stealthy as possible while complete the objective is, which is basically what the previous two were about as well. This installment, however, features more stunning graphics, some added/improved moves to allow the player to move stealthier than before. The selection of weapons and accessories have increased a bit. The gameplay itself is fairly good but based on the title, you can guess the main point of the gameplay. The game is kind of like medieval age Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

thiefy. ("Please enter a title".. bleh)Strengths: Open-ended gameplay. Very nice atmosphere. Interesting protagonist. Weakness: Can be a bit easy. Load times. Thief 3 isn't too bad... I like that the game emphasizes the stealth feature over combat (albeit by making the combat suck), and the enemy AI can occasionally be interesting. Foes run out of breath after chasing you for a while, and they'll call on their compatriots if they spot even the slightest clue you've been around. Missions are fun and excellent, and the game world is non-linear. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Thief: Deadly Shadows
You play Garrett, the master thief. Rarely seen and never caught, Garrett is the best that ever was. Able to sneak past any guard, pick any lock, and break into the most ingeniously secured residences, Garrett steals from the wealthy and gives to himself, making his living in the dark and foreboding City. World weary and cynical, Garrett wants nothing more than to be left alone to ply his trade.... Top

Eidos Thief Deadly Shadows For Windows
Strengths: Great setting and atmosphere. Realistic Gameplay. Good Mission Variety.
Weakness: Sometimes too realistic at the expense of fun. Glitches.
Deadly Shadows is an okay game. It forces your character to focus on being a thief in the medieval period. Being a thief is both a strength and a weakness. It's a stealth action game but it focuses a lot more on stealth. At times you want to cut loose and just have fun instead of crouching in the shadows all the time.
To achieve your goals you have a variety of gadgets. Gloves to climb walls, lockpicks, etc. But I personally find these mechanics a little simplistic when compared to a game like Splinter Cell. Where the gamereally shines is its variety of missions. Also, I find the AI to be above average. Guards still make mistakes and there are some AI exploits. But overall the guards can be good at what they do if you play carelessly.
Deadly Shadows has it share of glitches and flaws. But overall it has a fun story and a very good setting. I would recommend it if you can pick it up in the bargin bin for around $10-$15.
