FAMILY GUYStrengths: voice acting is top notch, non sequitur mini games are also hilarious Weakness: frustrating platforming and stealth levels FAMILY GUY is a 3rd person platformer game for the PS2. this game will sell a lot of copies because the show has a lot of fans who will buy this game (like me) and will then be both pleased and disappointed after playing for a few hours. First the good: the game retains a lot of the offbeat, risqué, and tasteless humor of the show, even though some of the jokes and lines are recycled from the show. Also, the voice acting is top notch, with many of the show’s original voice actors returning to spew their characters’ lines. I did laugh out loud quite a few times. The gameplay is basically broken into 3 parts: Peter’s is like a Double Dragon like beat ‘em up side scroller, where u have different attacks and punches and kicks to advance thru his levels. Brian’s is a stealth game a la Splinter Cell, where u have to avoid being spotted and u can hide in shadows. But this is the worst part of the gameplay, because u have to memorize the enemies’ patrol pattern in order to avoid them successfully. Get seen even once and u start the whole level over again. This gets unfair at times, because unseen enemies offscreen can also spot u, even though u can’ t see them and thus avoid them , so this is very cheap and annoying. The best parts are with Stewie, because of the variety of games his levels offers. Some are blast ‘em up shooters, some are also reminiscent of old school arcade games like Centipede. What makes his levels bad are the spotty platforming, where it is difficult trying to jump and land on moving platforms, and if u miss, u plummet all the way to the ground and have to navigate the entire platforming sequence all over again. Overall, this game is funny at times and can be entertaining, but the frustration from the aforementioned problems can kill the fun at times. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Family Guy doesn't quite get the job done. . .Strengths: Voice talent from the show cast, entertaining story, offensive humor, solid graphics Weakness: Simplistic game play, recycled audio from the show, short overall length Family Guy the game takes some quality script writing and cast audio performances and mixes them with generic beat-em-up, stealth and platforming game play. The fact that the end result isn't a complete disaster speaks volumes to the quality of the writers and cast. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Family Guy
When the Family Guy first debuted several years ago it became one of my favorite shows with its wild sense of humor and outlandish situations that befall Quahogs favorite family. I was really disappointed when it was canceled several years ago, but still enjoyed the reruns that were put on Cartoon Network. Last year something happened that had never happened before, Family Guy came back with a... Top

On PS2!
Strengths: Good graphics and excellent voice acting
Weakness: Somewhat weak gameplay
First, Peter's portion of the game plays like a beat-'em-up game that's greatly simplified. There's not much depth and more like a mindless button masher. Brian's portion of the game is stealth gameplay, but done bad. You'll get spotted quite often and have to start over again on his level. Lastly, there's Stewie which is the best out of the three. It plays like a platformer and actually done decently well. Overall, gameplay is rather on the low side and if you're expecting a great game then you'll be disappointed. If you're just playing for the comedy then this isn't too bad.
