UbiSoft Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

Strengths: Stellar graphics, excellent voice acting, realistic storyline, new online multiplayer mode

Weakness: Linear single player mode, trail and error gameplay, tough online competition

The original Splinter Cell gave you gritty stealth action gameplay without the other-worldly enemies, melodrama, lecturing on world peace or John Woo-style cinematics of the Metal Gear Solid series. If you wanted a more realistic perspective on what infiltrating the enemy's territory undetected might be like, Splinter Cell had you covered.

Pandora Tomorrow continues the series tradition of stellar graphics (dramatic use of light and shadow), excellent voice acting (led by Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher) and gritty real world locations and plot points. Pandora also ups the ante by adding a challenging new multiplayer online mode. (Beginners may find the online competition a bit overwhelming at first.)

Just as with the original Splinter Cell, Pandora's single player mode is linear and perhaps a tad short (10-12 hours). Some players simply will not like the trial and error style of gameplay. For those of you that liked Sam Fisher's original adventure, you're sure to be pleased with his latest outing, especially given its recent release as a Platinum Hits value title.

Pandora Tomorrow

Strengths: Graphics, Storyline, Animations, Voice Acting

Weakness: none

An excellent follow-up to the original. Purchased this shortly after finishing the first one. Slightly updated graphics, the voice acting is great, a couple new moves and a compelling story line make this a must have for anyone who enjoyed the original Splinter Cell.

Sam Fisher is back!

Strengths: Stunning graphics! Larger environment for challenges and enjoyment. New multiplayer mode that allow both online or LAN play.

Weakness: Buggy even after patches. No real alternative way to finish the mission. No real change in weaponary.

Fisher is back on the job again! This is sequel to the hit game Splinter Cell. The graphics on the first game was great, but this game offers better detail with ability to play at higher resolutions. The surrounding environments have been widen, so you would be able to play in the jungle and a small part of the city. Sam is also back with couple new moves that allow you to go through the missions more covert than before. The new multiplayer mode allow you to play with people online or within your own LAN party, which is a great feature if you do not want to worry about being online.

While the game itself is fun and entertaining, the game is very buggy even after the patches have been applied. The game would hog resources, even with faster system, it would lag from time to time. However, the company only focus on patching the multiplayer part more than making the game run smoother. There are only one way to finish the game, and often only one route to approach certain situations. And the rules are quite strict, when it does not want people hurt, you better not hurt them. That itself makes it slightly unrealistic. The weapons remain relatively the same as the first game, no big additions or changes.

For the fans of Tactical Espionage Action, or stealth genre, this is a must play game. Despite of the problems the game might have, it still offers the heart pounding, sneaking around actions that fans would love. Once you start playing, you would get addict to it.

Worthy Sequel to Splinter Cell

Strengths: This game benefits from containing the same elements that made the first Splinter Cell great, and adds on to that with the addition of a Multiplayer option.

Weakness: Nothing major. Just the way movement speed is controlled takes getting used to, but is intuitive once mastered.

I enjoyed playing through the first Splinter Cell, and it's sequel doesn't disappoint. Graphics look gorgeous, and the voice work is top-notch. Michael Ironside does a fantastic job as the voice of Sam Fisher. The majority of the game has you hiding in the shadows covertly, with the rare all-out action sequence. Yes, the gameplay is stealth based, but even if you're not a fan of this genre, I still suggest you give this game a try.

UbiSoft Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

Strengths: Graphics, Gameplay

Weakness: Rather Short

The sequel to Splinter Cell 1 finally hits and it's very, very good. The graphics are beautiful in this game, though one needs a relatively good computer to fully take avantage of the beautiful graphics. The sound is surround this time and it's very immersive thanks to realistic gunshots, good music, and the footsteps and chatter of enemies that can bring you more into the game. The gameplay is pretty much the same as with the first game. It's stealth gaming at it's best -- you'll sneak around and take out enemies making as little noise as possible while accomplishing your missions. Overall, the game is extremely well done and it's made to appeal directly to fans of the first game, so if you enjoyed that one, you'll love this.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

When Splinter Cell first hit PCs about this time last year, it dazzled gamers with some of the most realistic stealth action ever in a game. Now the sequel, Pandora Tomorrow, is hitting PCs with the same brand of espionage and action, albeit a few new tweaks in the formula. However, the biggest addition to the Splinter Cell series is the excellent multiplayer gameplay, which takes stealth to a...
