Encore Sacred

Strengths: Easy learning curve with lots of depth.

Weakness: Medium to high system requirements.

Easy learning curve with lots of depth. Very similar to an updated version of Diablo 2. Lots of fun to play. Six of character classes with different playing styles. Can be very addictive.

Encore Sacred

Strengths: Working single player.

Weakness: Too many bugs to list. Cannot create own game. Non-working pvp. Patches make the game unplayable. On and on.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you did, try to tape the box back up carefully. Ok here we go. Ascaron admits they still have code issues which make the game unplayable for some. Their solution is to patch it in June. JUNE. They released patch 1.6 which broke the game for many. They then released 1.66 to fix 1.6 and are now admitting 1.66 crashes the game. Did I mention you cannot create your own game? Pvp does not work as most character specific classes are broken. Tons of quests are broken and the ai is a joke.
People who say this is better than D2, or even close to it, should put their catnip down.
This game is fun for about one week. Why? Each class, except the battle mage, uses the same basic fighting skills. Attack/MultiHit/HardHit. BORING. Sure there are other skills but they are useless or novelty skills. Also past a certain level, maybe 40 for some lower for others, the game becomes repetitive. Without more content all one can do is level and shop. I mention shop since that is how you acquire the best items in the game. Most high levels, anyone over 60, have already given up on this game since there is nothing left to do. The difficulty levels are a joke as people are now importing their low levels to higher difficulties for more of a challenge. People are so bored with this game now they are having leveling contests.
If you still must have this game please wait until after the June patch or check out the preowned game section of your local store. Trust me there are plenty to choose from. Again, please don't waste your money on this pos.

Encore Sacred

Strengths: It is similiar to Diablo 2 Expansion. Brings back memories.

Weakness: Sluggish servers, a lot of lag, and I have a very fast connection. Doesn't match up to Diablo 2 at all, Diablo 2 set the bar too high for other games!!

A great effort on Encore's part, but unfortunately I myself have been a Diablo gamer since the beginning and this game although fun, it just doesn't compare. The only reason I bought this game is because Battle.Net banned my IP address LOL oh well.. this game will just have to do.

well I have played all forms of diablo, and while I do love that particular game, Sacred definately has a one up due to the endless variety of customizable characters.
after the expansion pack, and even before one could totally define multiple styles of each character. I have in my collection two varieties of dark elf, which play completely different, as well as a dual serafim of the same nature. Diablo was limited because if you played as a druid, you were always just going to fall into being a druid, with sacred each of the now eight characters have multiple development styles.
now I got into sacred much later into the game, and the current version I play is something like 2.28 so it is obvious that there were multiple programming programs and maybe its initial release date should have been pushed back by a year, but the fact now remains that it is a far superior game

Sacred

Overall, Sacred is one of the better action RPGs to come along in a while. There's a massive amount of depth, and the number of characters provides a lot of replayability. It also presents some interesting ideas that could be the potential direction the genre could go in. The somewhat clumsy combat schemes and ignorable plot are the two largest things that hold Sacred back, along with the...

Sacred

It's that time of year again, a time when the forces of evil are converging to destroy the world, and it's your job to stop it. This time the world is Ancaria and the game is Sacred, from Germany-based Ascaron Entertainment. Sometimes being a hero feels like a full-time job.
