What a Great Football GameStrengths: Better realism, funner dynasty mode, race for the heisman was a blast, the drills actually help you learn how to play better. Weakness: Although the AI in the defensive backfield is better than earlier versions, you can still run the same plays and kill the computer Overall I will give this game an A. The AI for the defensive backfield is improved and I really struggled to beat the computer at first. This was fun for me. When you play big time teams with smaller schools like Utah (GO UTES!!!) you really have to know what you are doing or you will be destroyed. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Unbelievable!Strengths: The game is very detailed, from the stadiums to the players to the way you recruit new players. Weakness: The only weakness is that the commentators repeat themselves. The game is great. The Race for the Heisman is exhilerating fun. You have the opportunity to create your own player and have him on a team. You're gonna love this game! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Really GoodStrengths: Very Fun, Recruiting Weakness: User Catching, Hard to Defend Passing This is the best version of the game since the 2004 one. The gameplay is very solid except for that the passing game is way to easy for offenses and too hard for defenses. The impact players and spring drills are nice additions as well. 78% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Best Football game out thereStrengths: Brings the college game home Weakness: Price, cover picture NCAA Football 2006 is the best football game out there. It's great fun even more than the Pro football games. I have to complain about the cover picture. Why put up a washed up overrated old player on it? 50% of readers found this review helpful. Some additions but nothing mind-blowingStrengths: Improved offensive abilities, improved AI defense, impact player Weakness: no new improvements to graphics, Heisman mode is a waste After playing through a couple modes of NCAA 06, I'd have to say I'm slightly dissappointed. Each year, it is EA's job to make the new NCAA football better than the previous. What I have found is they have kept the same dynasty mode as before with very few changes (except in-season recruiting is now possible). The graphics have not had any major changes (although this is to be expected with major thoughts going into the PS3/Xbox360 versions to come out in the next couple of years). So in those categories, there weren't really any changes. Where they did make changes it was either hit or miss. They redid some of the offensive abilities and responses to where catching the ball is easier and some of the plays/moves are more realiable. At the same time, they also improved the defense to where they are more active in actually swatting away thrown balls as opposed to just watching you catch it and then tackling you. Also, they have added a feature called impact player which shows when certain players are really hot and will most likely have a big impact on the next play (thus allowing you to utilize him to the fullest). Not a bad idea, although I think it needs a little work. 14% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NCAA Football 06Strengths: Gameplay, single player modes, crowd and stadium presentation Weakness: graphics NCAA Football 06 returns with minor improvements and refinements. Last year's great addition of crowd affect returns. The opposing team's screen and controller will shake and rumble when the crowd goes bonkers. Players who are not poise will choke. This feature is awesome. I wish more sport titles would use this feature. Gameplay-wise everything is pretty much the same with little changes here and there. The graphics are unfortunately also unchanged. The players are just not as detailed as the player models in ESPN NFL 2K5. The controls are great but the different turbo button assignments for offense and defense are somewhat a pain. If you are in control of the ball, X will be used for turbo. If you are not, sq will be used. Overall an excellent football game ....a must for all college pigskin junkie!!! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NCAA 06 FootballStrengths: Impact players, improved defense Weakness: Passing game, commentators EA has mad a superb game once again. The NCAA football series has been getting better and better each year, and this years installment is no exception. With the added impact player feature, you get to get one player hyped up and then use them to make incredible plays. However, this can also make games that are going poorly that much worse. If you're a fan of the series or just college football in general, definitely pick this title up, you won't be disappointed. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NCAA Football 06
Podunk University is located in a town that usually only sports a population of 5,000-7,500 people in one of the nation’s least populated states. Who would’ve guessed that such a remote area would house an NCAA Division I school? And yet, there is it, with a shining stadium that seats 65,000, and a football team that is gearing up to play with the big kids. With an open slot on the schedule,... TopSponsored Links

NCAA Football 2006
Strengths: Graphics, sound, game play, accurate representation of teams and stadiums
Weakness: Too many drops and bad throws when your QB or WR gets riled
NCAA Football 2006 is one of the most accurate representations of college football I have ever played. The graphics are great (although they are starting to look a little dated) and the sound and game play are also phenomenal.
This year, EA has added “superstar” players. These players are displayed with a white circle underneath them to distinguish who these players are. When the circle starts to pulsate, that player is in the “zone” and ready to make a play. In other words, get him the ball on offense, or get him to the ball on defense.
The game also has an added feature of crowd noise that will affect the way the players perform on the field, as well as your ability to audible. They also rank the stadiums by the toughest places to play to let the opposing team know how loud and rowdy they can get.
The only problem I had with this game is when your players get really riled; it is almost as if they forget how to play. This is very apparent with QBs missing wide open receivers when they throw the ball to them or a receiver dropping too many balls when you throw to them. Otherwise, this game is superb and I advise any college football fans to pick it up.
