Ratchet GLADIATOR

Strengths: Gameplay is good, Graphics are awsome.

Weakness: Not enough violence.

I played Ratchet Gladiator but these seem to just have a different name (for outside AUS). The only problem I can see with this game is that it lacks gore and violence. If you liked the last 3 then this is for you. If you liked Timesplitters 2 then this is for you. If you like basicly any 3rd person action game (save FSW) this is for you.

Ratchet Deadlocked

Strengths: - great graphics - great sound effects

Weakness: - weak plot

Ok for those who need to escape reality into simple minded violence. The graphics and sound effects can help to wisk you away into an alternate reality, but the weak plot makes that alternate reality a little pale.

Most action packed game in the series.

Strengths: Great graphics, sound, Co-Op play, online multiplayer battle modes, and 4-player split-screen.

Weakness: Rare framerate problems.

"Ratchet: Deadlocked" goes in a slightly different direction than the others but it's just as awesome as "Up your Arsenal". This time they focused more on action than platforming and puzzle solving which is not necessarily better but is a nice change of pace. Like the previous game, the movies are hilarious. The story is not quite as deep as the others but you won't care because you'll be having too much fun blowing up hundreds enemies at the same time with an incredible arsenal of weapons. Deadlocked has half as many weapons but the many weapon mods open up nearly limitless combinations. The more you use a weapon the more powerful it becomes. You'll also get to ride a hoverbike, all-terrain tank, quadruped tank, and hovership. You're given two sidekick bots that have guns and tools of their own but they are pretty much useless except for their hacking ability and special weapon that dices up every enemy in the area. The improved online and 4-player split-screen multiplayer options are what really shine in this edition. There are more multiplayer maps, modes, and skins to mix things up. Also, you and a friend can play through the entire story mode together. The framerate may drop a little on rare occasions but only when there are two or three hundred enemies coming at you at once! This game is definitely worth the $20.00 price tag.

Deadlocked

Strengths: very fun and exciting

Weakness: not as man secrets to unlock

Ratchet: Deadlocked is a great sequel to the Ratchet series. The story took place shortly after the events in Ratchet: Up Your Arsenal." However, this game was not as good as the other three games because it doesn't have as many puzzling adventures and there aren't enough unlockable secrets. On the other hand, I love the game. It was very enjoyable and only a minor dissapointment.

Rambo Ain't Got Nothing On Ratchet!

Strengths: Online Play, Co-Story Mode, Lots of Multiplayer Modes

Weakness: No Puzzle Platform Gameplay

Ratchet: Deadlocked is the 4th game from Insomniac on the Playstation 2 and while some will be disappointed that it doesn't have any platforming or puzzle type gameplay elements to it like the previous games that doesn't mean it's not good as it still does a tramendous job on the run and gun gameplay aspects from the previous games.

The one thing that is really cool is that Ratchet: Deadlocked has a co-story mode in which 2 player can play though the game it also has a wide variety of multiplayer modes in which 4 players can play split screen and you can also play with up to ten players online.

I would highly recommend Ratchet: Deadlocked to gamers that enjoyed the previous games in the series and also to gamers who enjoy 3rd person shooters.

Ratchet Deadlocked

Strengths: graphics, fun

Weakness: short

Racchet Deadlocked isn't as good as the previous Ratchet and Clank series. Ratchet is more of an arena style game than an adventure game. It is also alittle on the short side and there isn't as much replay value.

Fun for short sessions, but lacks depth

Strengths: fast paced shooter

Weakness: they stretched out the arena battles found in the previous games and made it a game of its own.

Ratchet Deadlocked isn't a sequel to the series but more like an off shoot. They've tried to add an element of squad based shooters as Ratchet can control 2 robots but their inclusion doesn't add much to the game as all they do is provide backup fire. You can also ride in flying machines, mechs, and whatnot but sometimes these vehicles are more frustrating to control.

The developers pretty much took the battle arena levels in the previous games and made them bigger, added two computer AI controlled sidekicks, and vehicles. So while there's nothing technically wrong with the game, it feels like an overdrawn sidequest.

Ratchet: Deadlocked

Strengths: Gameplay, graphics

Weakness: N/A

Ratchet: Deadlocked is a great sequel to the Ratchet series. The story took place shortly after the events in Ratchet: Up Your Arsenal" with Ratchet being the captain of the starship Phoenix. However, Ratchet and Clank were kidnapped and forced to compete on the game show "Dreadzone" where the game starts.

The gameplay is as good as the other three games in the series. I enjoyed it very much. It still has some minor problem though. It seems a bit too short and unlockable content is not a lot.

Deadlocked

Strengths: New weapons

Weakness: Poor story elements, not what it used to be

I had heard this game was different from the previous installments of Ratchet & Clank, but since I had so much fun playing the previous 3, I just had to get it anyways. Looking back, I wish I hadn't. The things that I enjoyed in the first 3 are all gone. Gone is the platforming and story. Instead, we now have guns, guns, and well... guns. Granted this was the cool thing about Ratchet, but when the entire game is spent doing nothing but taking out massive hoards of enemies, it shouldn't be part of the Ratchet & Clank series anymore. It should be called Half Life X or whatever. Seriously though, the gameplay was alright, I just couldn't get around the fact that the game is nothing like what I had hoped for. Perhaps, if there is another installment, they will venture back into the platforming genre.

Ratchet Deadlocked

Strengths: Well-polished 3rd person shooter

Weakness: Fewer weapons, lack of exploration compared to previous installments

Ratchet Deadlocked is the fourth installment of the Ratchet & Clank series. This one continues the evolution of the game from a Jak & Daxter like platforming adventure with shooter elements to a pure shooting game. The close to 90 missions nearly all involve taking out hordes of enemies. While this is very well done it does take some of the variety out of the game. As with the previous games the story is top-notch.

The real focus of this game is on the online multiplayer element. This has been amped up from the excellent Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal and is the real reason to get the game.

Ratchet: Deadlocked

Strengths: Fun multi-player, lots of destruction

Weakness: No longer a platformer game. Single player mode is short and boring.

The makers of the Ratchet and Clank series have decided to go off in another direction. Instead of continuing the platformer series, they decided to take a chance and make more of a third person shooter type game. The result... I'd have to say it's just so-so.

The single-player mode is definitely nothing like it used to be. Gone are the days of jumping and puzzle solving. Instead, your mission is to destroy everything in sight. While this shifted focus does offer a change in the series (which might have gotten boring otherwise), I personally don't see it as a welcome change. The game has gone so far from it's roots that it is no longer something I look forward to.

On the other hand, the multi-player online mode is excellent. Just like any other multi-player 3rd person shooter, Ratchet & Clank has several different modes which keep things from getting boring or repetitive.

Overall, I'd say that if you are only going to be able to play single-player mode, to leave the game on the shelf. But if you have access to a broadband connection, then have at it!

Ratchet Deadlocked

Strengths: Another Great Ratchet Game,Overall a great game

Weakness: Focuses too much on shooting, Short

Ratchet Deadlocked is another great Ratchet and Clank game. In this title they have taken out almost all the platforming and instead focused on the shooting. The game is really good but not as good as the other titles. The game is also pretty short.

Another Ratchet

Strengths: Good weapons, lots to kill

Weakness: Very similar to previous games, mostly shooting, plot is gone

This is a bit of a departure from the previous games in the series. This game focuses on shooting and weapons and leaves out most of the platforming concepts. The great weapons are still here and it's a blast upgrading them as the game progresses. It has the same great graphics and controls of the previous games. Bottom line is if you liked the weapons and shooting from the previous games, get it. If you liked the stories and platforming aspects, look for another game.

Ratchet Getting Old....Yawn....

Strengths: Same old gameplay, co-op mode

Weakness: Single player way too short

The Ratchet series is getting old. They are spitting out a Ratchet game every year. They gotta take a year off or so before it turns into the Tony Hawk Series. If you are expect a great Ratchet game like years past, you'll dissapointed. The game is SHORT. It seems like the developers focused more on the co-op mode and multiplayer modes than creating a satisfying single player game.
If you are a hardcore Ratchet fan, get this game--otherwise skip it.

Best Ratchet yet

Strengths: Very good graphics and a challenging game

Weakness: No tesla barrier, or guidable rockets.

The Game is very interesting and fun filled. It has about eighty challenges and five difficulty levels. It also has about thirteen campaigns. This game will hold your attention for many hours and is ranked high in the top ten that I have yet to play.

great game

Strengths: multiplayer, twitch gameplay

Weakness: shallow sotry compared to the other 3

I got this game thinking it was like the old ratchet and clank's. It is and it isn't. It still has the old clank style but it has moved to more of a 3rd person squad based shooter as the gameplay. It is fun, especially co-op, but I just miss the platforming. I still recommend.

Ratchet & Clank Deadlocked

Insomniac Games brings back one of its most beloved characters, Ratchet, in RATCHET: DEADLOCKED for the PS2. Although more of the focus is on combat instead of the traditional platform action, Deadlocked still plays similar to the previous RATCHET AND CLANK games. RATCHET: DEADLOCKED begins shortly after the end of RATCHET AND CLANK: Up your Arsenal. The three heroes, Ratchet, Clank, and mechanic...

Ratchet: Deadlocked

Somehow it always comes down to two of the gaming world’s most influential platform franchises and almost always these two forces manage to produce great games that have gamers wondering which one to buy. This year, though, the Jak series has gone to the races while the Ratchet series continues to bring us yet another helping of the same platform gaming joy it established with Ratchet and...

Ratchet Deadlocked

I have to give Insomniac Games credit. The team has managed to hold its line of Ratchet and Clank titles to a very high standard that few other franchises could ever hope to achieve. And while I'm a fan of Naughty Dog's Jak series and Sucker Punch's Sly trilogy just like everybody else, for my money no other annual PS2 game has been as consistently fun as Insomniac's Lombax and robot duo over the...
