Final Fantasy IVStrengths: story, fun gameplay This game reminds me a lot of Pokemon type games. You travel around the world completing quests and upgrading your characters - increasing skills/hitpoints and learning new spells. You play looking down on your character as he travels the world and you will have random encounters with monsters. The battles aren't really turned based though. Each character has length of time between attacks, it can be quick and you'll be able to attack multiple times for each enemies attack, or you may have a slower attack rate and therefore have to wait longer between attacks. Classic RPG!Strengths: no lags, portable Weakness: none This was my first rpg I have ever completed for the SNES, and I was immediately hooked. Since I no longer own the snes or the catridge, having the game available for gameboy was a godsend! The game is just as I remembered it. The game plays smoothly with no lag at all due to cartrige format. Will bring you hours upon hours of gameplay! Excellent purchase, worth every penny! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Final Fantasy IVStrengths: Near perfect port (with improvements) of the original classic Weakness: N/A Final Fantasy IV is a port of the Japanese Super Famicom (Super NES) Final Fantasy IV game. It is a near-perfect port with some subtle improvements. It is an old-school RPG that may seem a little basic to people who have only played the most recent Final Fantasy games. Nonetheless it is a true classic and holds up better than the Final Fantasy I/II GBA compilation. It is a must-play for any Final Fantasy fan. The major additions in this version are 2 bonus dungeons and some new character abilities. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Spoonier Than Your Average BardStrengths: Fast moving and entertaining plot, bonus content. Weakness: Some gameplay glitches. Final Fantasy IV Advance is a solid port of a classic, with a terrific new localization as well as some very worthwhile new content. While a few strange glitches plague battles, the adventure is always entertaining (if melodramatic). Overall, this is yet another worthwhile remake of a classic RPG from Square Enix. Second best FFStrengths: Excellent storytelling Weakness: Relatively linear gameplay Final Fantasy IV (II on the SNES) was an excellent entry in the series when it was originally released, and holds up very well. While it was overshadowed, for me, by FFVI(III) with its branching storylines and diverse characters, IV was where it began, and it did it well. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get lost in various dungeons... all in good fun. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Final Fantasy IV gets yet another port, this time...Strengths: Decent port of quality RPG, great story & characters, great audio, lengthy quest now with a big new dungeon, save anywhere Weakness: Port of a 16-year-old SNES game, not many updates, expensive for what you get Long regarded at the breakthrough game of the series, Final Fantasy 2 for the Super Nintendo was originally released in 1991. It featured an epic story, memorable characters and thirty plus hours of game play, and now you can relive this experience again on your Game Boy Advance or DS. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? FF4 for GBA!Strengths: Great story, music, game Weakness: Slight differences from original may turn off hardcore gamers If you've never played this Final Fantasy game and you're interested, then go get it. It's on of the best FF games that has come out and it's well ported to the GBA. It also has a few extra things that weren't in the original. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Good, portable portStrengths: It's Final Fantasy Weakness: It's Final Fantasy This game is a port of an older Super Nintendo game, and if you've played that, you know what to expect. The game looks and plays as well as it did back then, but this is a port of the more difficult FF4. The original FF4 in the US, ported as FF2, was a port of the "easy version." The game's highlight is the story, as is with all Final Fantasy games, but there is a lot of level grinding so the game can be tedious. The revamped character art can be a put off for purists, the there is an extra dungeon at the end of the game for hardcore fans. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A solid remake of the first 16-bit Final FantasyStrengths: Nice mix of improving the original version with extra content added. Weakness: Some slowdown during battles (minor though) Final Fantasy IV was originally released in the US as Final Fantasy II. And only had a name change since it was the second of the Final Fantasy series to be released in the US (Since Final Fantasy II & III never came out in the US for the NES). A great Final Fantasy game tweaked for the GBAStrengths: 2 new dungeonas, graphics tweaked Weakness: Game feels a bit dated by today's standards Final Fantasy IV is a Gameboy Advance remake of a game originally released in the US as Final Fantasy II for the SNES. While the game still holds it own as a turn-based RPG, it does feel a bit dated. 2 new dungeons have been added and the battle system has been changed up a bit. While some visuals have been enhanced here and there, the graphics and gameplay as a whole haven't changed much. As a result, FFIV probably isn't worth purchasing if you already own it. But die-hard FF fans will still probably get a kick out of it. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Final Fantasy IVStrengths: Probably the second best game in the entire series. Weakness: NONE. Second only to FF VI, this Final Fantasy IV is tops in the FF family of games. An excellent story revolving around self-redemption and friendship to go along with kickass old school gameplay makes for a great, great game. Square Enix made sure to improve the graphics, translation and added an extra dungeon as well. It would be a worthy purchase for any GBA owner. RPG fans...this is where it is at. Pick up FF IV! Great Traditional RPGStrengths: Updated Audio and visuals, new dungeons and gameplay Weakness: Dialogue and game still a little censored One of my favorite games is now portable. I played this game when it was released as Final Fantasy II for the Super NES and the rerelease on the Playstation. The first thing I noticed when I turned on this game, was the new intro. With the final fantasy theme playing in the background the game is introduced. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

The far from "Final" Fantasy.Strengths: Much more detailed and in depth game than what was in FF 1 & 2. Still looks good and plays well for such an old game/ I didn't really like Final Fantasy I&II. They were a little too simple and aged. But Final Fantasy IV, even after many years, is still a good game. This game finally starts to become the Final Fantasy I remember. There are losts of spells, characters, and adventure to be had. It fits in perfectly on the portable. Even the story holds up well. It has a nice quick save feature for the protable GBA/DS systems and is great on the Go. If you've never played FFIV previously, this version might be one to pick up. An old classic reborn on GBAStrengths: Great classic RPG gameplay and nice story Weakness: Music sounds a little different than the original version Final Fantasy IV advance is the classic Final Fantasy II from the SNES reborn on the GBA. This version has a newer translation that is closer to the original Japanese one, and elements of the game have been changed back to how they were in the Japanese version. It is a great classic RPG and brings back feelings of nostalgia. Overall a nice addition to anyone's GBA collection. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

An epic in fantasy RPGs...and that's a very good...
Strengths: Excellent storyline, engaging characters, good plot twists, solid FF gameplay throughout
Weakness: Traditional RPG mechanics will turn some away at first glance...but it shouldn't...and if you don't like opera, go play pokemon instead, this one has an intricate drama that takes time to get into...
When I play this game it reminds me of a good 19th century opera. Maybe Wagner, Gluck or Verdi. It is full of the usual "sturm und drang"/storm and stress that you can expect from a good old wailing opera. And it has all of the traditional elements, romantic battles, conflicts between light and dark, good and evil, spoony bards, damsels in distress, jumping dragoons, chocobos. Well, maybe not the chocobos.
But really, this game has that type of aura about it; it feels like a legend full of magic and mystery that you have been suddenly transported into and feel compelled to follow to its conclusion. It is a must-play classic in every sense of the word. This game basically single-handedly raised the bar on what you could expect in terms of storyline from an RPG. What we take for granted nowadays from RPG story arcs these days was not a given at the time this game was released, FFIV was kind of the new high-water mark for what was possible. And it still plays great today. Definitely pick this one up if you are at all interested in RPGs or fantasy. A classic, timeless...
