It's become a classic, and everyone should probably see it because some of the scenes with the robbers are hilarious, but it's not really that great of a movie. The sad part is that this was the high point of McCauley Culkin's career.

This movie was allight, but to childish for my taste. It is a movie for kids but I saw it the first time when I was sixteen or so. So I was definately too old.

This movie was certainly inventive. Kevin's brothers are horrible and this movie gives us a bad impression on the 'typical American family.' His family, all except his mother, seemed arrogent and unloving. I suppose I would have a bad attitude in a family like that.

The original was way better then it's sequals. I did enjoy the first 2 more then the third because McCalley Culkin played in the movie better, then the other one in the third movie.

Mackauley Caulkin at his best ! A wonderful, hilarious movie for the whole family to enjoy. It is an even better movie to watch during the holidays. I absolutely loved it !

I agree with kolby that this is "Macauley Culkin at his best" . . . however, that's not saying much. The gags, cute at first, get a little more than repetative. Good for the younger audience, perhaps, but I could do without.

It was a great idea for a plot, but they should have used a different main character. Or at least they should have had a nicer kid with a better attitude. It would have made it more fun to pull for him when he was battling the criminals.

This movie is a classic. However, the older you get, the more you seem to dislike this film. From a child's point of view, this film deserves a 5, for the cartoon-like comedy. Joe Pesci was excellent in this movie. A classic, but nothing special after you reach the age of 12.

this is a pretty funny movie. A little boy accidentally gets left behind at the Holidays. He must defend his house from two bungling burglers. Macauley Culkin was great as Kevin. the only thing i really do not like is this movie gets quite violent with the burglers when you think about what would really happen to someone if they got the injuries the burglers did in the movie.but a pretty good movie for the most part.

I don't think it can be noted for a great deal of cinematic brilliance, but it is nonetheless a favorite among people around my age (13-19). I must have seen it 35 times. Kids just love seeing the idea of a 10-year-old outsmarting two criminal bandits. The physical abuse they endure at the hands of Kevin McCallister is the extremely humorous part. Also, everyone has been angry at their family and felt left out at one point or another; but it teaches that you have to look past that and be with your family (especially during the holiday season).

This is one we try to catch every Christmas. Kevin gets left alone, and he winds up fending off crooks who are trying to clean the place out. Some of it is barely believable, and credibility is stretched to the limit, but put your brain on hold for an hour and a half and you'll probably enjoy this.

I was about the age of Culkin when the movie came out and can remember laughing until I cried. It is one of those movies that will continue to make children, and those young at heart laugh any time they watch it and will never lose its appeal.

Once in a few years, one movie comes out that is a total surprise to you, and eventully you find out everyone else thought and felt the same way. Home Alone is the best movie of 1990, and Culkin is just such a sweetheart and a great kid.

This one was really funny when it came out. But when I watch it now it isn't really funny since the physical comedy isn't exactly revolutionary. Falling and getting wacked with cans isn't exactly something new. Overall a nice plot and it's great for a good laugh.

This was so funny. Macauly Culkin was so cute in this movie. Now this is a classic movie. I loved this movie because it was so cute how he acted when he was alone- going to the store and doing the laundry. If I were alone I would just sit around and do nothing, but he is a smart kid to do what he did.

This movie is way too overrated. It was cute for little kids. It isn't a comedy for adults whatsoever. It is redunant and stupid most of the time. The clever little tricks that the little boy (I forget his name) are just too unrealistic. My attention span ran out after 15 minutes.

I'm probably being harsher on this movie than I should because it's hard to reconcile its amazing popularity with the fact that it stinks, especially if you get sick of physical, cartoon-like comedy after the first person slips on something and falls down the stairs. And it's not Chevy Chase making the fall.
