Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Xbox

Strengths: Great Buffy franchise

Weakness: A little too hard in some places- WAY too long between save points.

This game is not quite as good as the first one. If you played the first game- then these omissions will seem even more traumatic to you, but if this is the first one you play- you'll have a great time.

My biggest complaint is that you are unable to save the game where ever you wish. The game makes you trudge through extremely long levels before you can save your progress- we're talking in the range of 80-100 minutes of game play before you can save- so it takes a big committment of time to play through each level in one sitting.

Graphics are good- levels are well designed and actually get much better towards the end of the game. The puzzles are simple, but some of the combat is a real pain- and get's annoying after a while.

Buffy Fans will NOT be disappointed.

Strengths: Based on the cult TV series of the same name. great voiceovers by some of the original cast members. Great unlockable content.

Weakness: Somewhat questionable fighting engine. Gets repetitive.

As a follow up to the original "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" for the XBox, "Chaos Bleeds" is a definite 'upgrade' of sorts from the previous outing with Buffy and company.

Like the previous game, the player is thrust into taking control of the titular character, Buffy Summers as she tries her best to kick some vampire tail and make sure the Sunnydale isn't dragged down into darkness.

The storyline takes place between seasons 5 and 7, but can't officially be placed in between any offical episode (for all your die-hard Buffy Fans). Think of this game as a set of about 3-4 episodes, depending on how fast you play through the game and uncover the storyline.

As in the show, the storyline and humor is definitely apparent upon the first five minutes of playing the game. Sure, it might be a bit over the top in terms of what the characters may have to say, but if you're a Buffy Fan, you'll immediately feel right at home with the snazzy humor the game offers.

All the rest aside, the gameplay is where this game may stand out, at least in the eyes of the fans. This is the only known Buffy game where players can take control of Buffy universe characters Willow, Xander, Spike and Faith. Each character has their own set of traits, strengths and weaknesses.

For example, Buffy and Faith play almost exactly alike, have almost identical moves and have almost identical powers. Why? Probably because they're both 'Slayers', but also because it might have just saved a bit of time from the game production houses' eyes to just 'character swap' the sprites and keep the same move set. The same applies for Xander and Spike, except for the fact that Spike is a bit stronger and has more abilities to use, such as his vampire power, whereas Xander is just a normal (but cool) guy.

The only other exception would be another main character; Willow. She is the only unique character to not have a 'kick' action, but instead utilizes magical spells to dispatch her enemies (She's a Witch, you know). Instead of using fists to punch and feet to kick with, Willow uses an 'enchanted force' open palm strike, which can easily knock her foes sprawling onto the ground if she connects with her short combo. If up close fighting isn't your deal, dispatch the enemy from afar by using magic spells, which are limited, but are very powerful.

There are also tons of features such as cast and director interviews to unlock, so this game should keep you pretty busy, especially if you want to unlock everything.

Overall, you'll get a pretty decent brawler which can get a bit repetitive, but if you're a fan of the whole "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" franchise, you'll want to get in on this game.

Chaos Bleeds Great Gameplay

Strengths: Controls, Character Selection

Weakness: Camera Angles at Times

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a great game and so is Chaos Bleeds. This game adds more playable characters and a deeper storyline. The controls works very well, but there were some issues with the camera angles. When I heard that EA didn't produce the game I was worried, but Vivendi did a great job sticking to the first. If you enjoyed playing the first game, you will definitely like playing this one.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds (Xbox)

Strengths: (1) Strong source material to pull inspriation from (2) Faithful transition of TV show elements and characters to video game (2) Entertaining fighting system (3) Engaging story, especially for fans

Weakness: (1) Little reason to replay main campaign, but multiplayer adds to the life of the game (2) Story elements might not be fully appreciated by non-Buffy fans

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds is, overall, a well executed and enjoyable game. Fans of the TV series will find even more to like about it, as it faithfully represents characters and elements from the Buffy Universe while also offering a new adventure that takes place in the Buffy timeline. This game even offers a little more than the previous video game incarnation, as it lets you control several key characters in addition to Buffy. In all, the graphics are above average and the characters do look much like their real life counterparts. The enemies are varied and fun to battle. The puzzles are pretty much standard for this type of game, and there is nothing really new or unique about them. In all, this is a pretty sure bet for any action or Buffy fan. The main storyline is pretty good and there is even some fun multiplayer modes to prolong the game.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds

Strengths: Lots of characters from the Buffy Universe, good fighting engine

Weakness: Poor interaction on some of the puzzles, long levels with no save points

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds is the second Xbox game based upon the television series of the same name. This game is a linear action game that allows you to play with several different characters (Buffy, Willow, Xander, Faith, Spike, and Sid). It was nice to see so many characters from the series, but you don't get to choose who you play as. As the story unfolds, you play as all the different characters in specific levels and this was honestly a little uninspiring to me. I found that there was no reason that I needed to actually play levels as Xander, Faith, or Spike. They all had a similar fighting style to Buffy and they simply were not as fun to play with. Willow at least has witch powers and Sid is at least visually different than the others.

The combat system is very nice in this game though. It's easy to string together combos using the punch and kick buttons and the collision detection is good. There is a good selection of weapons that you can find that range from swords to flamethrowers. In addition, you can also break wooden furniture to make stakes to finish the vampires off.

The graphics in the game are adequate, but not stunning and the voice acting is decent because some of the actors voice their characters (unfortunately Buffy and Willow are not).

The gameplay is relatively easy as most of the enemies are lucky to get a hit in on you and there are plenty of health packs. There are a few secrets in each level and there are basic puzzles to solve as well. The problem with some of these puzzles, though, is that they are not always obvious and you character doesn't always interact with the environment on the first time. This can leave you wandering back through levels wondering what you missed.

There is also a lacking of save points in this game. Each level is about 45 minutes to an hour long and you can not save until you finish a level. There are continue points in the levels, but if you turn off your Xbox, you will have to start from the beginning of the level again.

Overall, this is a solid action game that fans of the series will enjoy.

Buffy: Chaos Bleeds

Strengths: Great Graphics, Excellent Story

Weakness: Almost exactly like the 1st game

Buffy Chaos Bleeds is the second console Buffy game. This time, you can be Buffy, Willow, Xander, Spike, Faith or Sid the Dummy, unlike the 1st game where you can only play as Buffy. Great Graphics and a story that takes place within Season 4 make this game a winner in any Buffy fansd game collection.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Xbox

Strengths: Graphics, sound, Voice acting, and multiple characters to play as.

Weakness: Not as good looking as the first Buffy game.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds is an action/adventure game for XBOX. You get to play as various characters from the Buffy franchise. This game is the sequel to the original Buffy XBOX game. It uses most of the voice actors from the series except once again Sarah is missing. The games graphics are not as good as the first Buffy game. This is probably due to it being a multi-platform game. The game is fun and plays like a beatem up style game.

Give the game 3 stars for not being better than the first Buffy game, 4 stars if you are a Buffy fan.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Xbox

Strengths: Game is simply fun

Weakness: Graphics

The graphics to this game aren't even as good as the original Buffy on Xbox. The story line is just Ok, but the game is really fun. This game is hard to review, because I liked the actual action part of it. It's just that everything else wasn't so good. I'd rent this first.

Buffy Vampire Slayer Chaos Bleeds

Buffy has bucked more trends than she has slain vampires. First, the show becomes the rare TV hit spawned by a movie . Second, last year's Xbox game was the ultra-rare, license-themed release that wasn't just out to make a fast buck. The Collective handled the development duties last time around and did a bang up job. For Vivendi Universal's Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds, it was...

Buffy Vampire Slayer Chaos Bleeds

With a new team taking Buffy's reigns and a need to develop the title simultaneously for three platforms, there were plenty of places where Eurocom could have gone wrong. Did they improve upon a promising beginning or squander the franchises potential?
